Oracle unveils new cloud operating system

Oracle Corp. unveiled an operating system that runs without the need for human oversight, part of a raft of new software tools meant to ease the company’s rocky transition to cloud computing.

The operating system expands Oracle’s line of autonomous products beyond databases, the company’s flagship software.

Important information missing from MyBB article, but in the official Oracle press release:
Oracle will also provide technical support for Oracle software running in VMware environments both in customer on-premise data centers and Oracle-certified cloud environments
This is a big deal, as previously, Oracle could ask you to reproduce errors on physical before MOS will investigate.
Not an ideal scenario for and enterprise use.

Not sure if the licensing of Oracle products is also licensed for vCPU vs all the cores in the farm.

A while back, we've considered running Oracle DB on VMware, but Oracle Support T&C was a problem.
Oracle Licensing wanted us to pay for all cores where the VM could live migrate to.
