Ja, I must say that I myself would even be really happy there (hypothetically). Its peacefull, your with your people, and nothing really goes wrong... well i guess they have their little problems, but atleast you dont expect people around you to get mugged, robbed or killed easily.

Tydens samesprekings tussen die kommisaris van die Kommissie op Herstel van Grondregte in die Noord-Kaap, mnr. Ramakarane, en inwoners van Orania het die Kommissaris dit gestel dat die doel van die publisering van die eis nie is om Orania te destabiliseer nie ("Gazetting of the claim was not done with the purpose of creating instability amongst members of Orania") en dat dit nie ekonomiese ontwikkeling op die dorp sal belemmer nie.

Die grondeis is ingedien deur persone wat vroeër jare in die tydperk toe die dorp deur die departement Waterwese bestuur is in Orania gewoon het. Die dorp Orania is aanvanklik deur die departement Waterwese aangelê om tydelike huisvesting aan sy werkers te bied tydens die bou van 'n waterkanaalstelsel. Na voltooiing van die projek is die dorp ontruim. Met die aankoop van Orania in 1991 het die dorp reeds vir agt jaar, op enkele inwoners na, leeg gestaan. Dit is sommige van hierdie inwoners wat die eis ingedien het. Met die ontruiming van Orania het departement Waterwese alternatiewe huisvesting aan inwoners verskaf. Orania is op die ope mark bekom met die uitdruklike ooreenkoms dat dit geen inwoners of grondregte insluit nie.

In die gesprek tussen die Noord-Kaapse kommissaris en inwoners van Orania het die kommissaris aangedui dat die eis ter sprake op dieselfde wyse hanteer sal word soos byvoorbeeld die geval van Triomf. Waar 'n nuwe gemeenskap tot stand gekom het in die bepaalde gebied is dit nie sinvol om die nuwe gemeenskap te ontwrig in die proses van die skikking van 'n eis nie. In so 'n geval is 'n finansiële skikking meer gewenste opsie.

Die media het reeds in 2000 oor hierdie grondeis berig. Die destydse Noord-Kaapse grondeisekommissaris, me. Carol da Gama, het toe reeds gesê dat die eisers eerder geldelik vergoed sal word.

Aangesien die eis teen die regering gerig is en die Grondeisekommissie reeds aangedui het dat die bestaan van die huidige Orania nie in gedrang sal kom nie, beskou die inwoners van Orania dit primêr as 'n saak tussen die eisers en die staat.

Jammer, dit blyk asof dit alles in die haak is met die grondeis

oh, get off that high horse, most of us here, grew up in south africa, and know, that people use the phrases "stay with your own people" , or "look after your own people" or "you are with your people" as a euphamism for racist practices

I see they have their own curency - the Ora ( how original ) but imagine when young Ossewania grows up and ventures into the real world armed with her Ora's - where's she gonna change them
