Ordering off Aliexpress? Advice?

View attachment 1590294

I was at the East Lynne Post Office yesterday, according to them, the package isn't there?

Email your tracking number to socialmedia(at)postoffice.co.za.

I had a similar issue. Went to the toti PO and was told package wasn't there. The next day I emailed the above email and within 24 hours they told me the exact shelf my package was located at the post office.

I think the post office staff are too lazy to actually check. It's easier to say it's not there

Yeah I go to PO, say here to collect package. First thing I get told, no sorry tracking system offline. Look at them perplexed for a second then say, but this tracking app says it is here. At that point they usually then take the effort to look.

Its as the gent in post # 118 said. My neighbour's son works for a food importer 2 doors from FedEx. He said there had been no activity there since Friday morning

He lives in Somerset West and getting to the Airport Industria is no problem. The holdup occurs nearer Cape Town
Did your parcel eventually get delivered by FedEx?

Still works :

Got it just now, only had to pay the usual handling fee - no taxes.

That said another order of mine from August is still MIA - however I have had SAPO take 8 months with some of my order previously so only give up hope after a year.

My first Ali order shows as arrived as Linehaul office on 09th October. Some 30 hours after departure from transit region. Thanks for the details, I will stop pressing F5 and await the item. Bangood is rather more expensive but I think I would rather pay the extra R150-R200 for some other items.

Also have been accumulating a few small value items on my cart with Aliexpress that is not in stock with Banggood , and was awaiting my first order delivery before did a checkout.

My postoffice serves a large footprint and density, and will not assist without the notification, unless it is really quiet. The white slip version of which we may never receive.

Was that via Sapo or Buffalo express?

SAPO - pretty happy with the service.
That’s incredible, 4 weeks and it’s delivered?

I remember back in the good old days Chinese orders sometimes being ready to collect in 2 weeks, man that was so awesome. The whole world of Chinese gadgets and cheap awesomeness was there for the taking.

Correct - in around 2004 ~2010 you could buy stuff from China on eBay and have it within 2 weeks. I remember before going on honeymoon in 2006 I bought a 4GB CF card for my Canon camera it was here in 10 days.

These days the fastest you get stuff through SAPO is orders from Wish since they have a deal with SAPO, but still we are talking 4 weeks best case scenario.

Last year I ordered stuff in March and it arrived at the start of December - that was a new record for me.

2 out of 3 of my items got delivered. I lost out on my one Item, paid R80 for...Aliexpress refused to refund me stating "lack of proof".

I do feel bad for filling an issue when the items are not delivered. That poor seller did send it and it is stuck somewhere - yet some of them do come through it time so I guess they will have to adapt their estimates.

On eBay I have re-paid seller after items I have been refunded for turned up, but that is via Paypal so you can actually do that.

But services like Buffalo exist in China. I don't get why aliexpress don't make that available to all seller as an option. Imagine how much more we would buy from there then.
I have had some Aliexpress and eBay orders being delivered by Buffalo, wish.com uses them too.

I would like to know those sellers that send via Buffalo for electronic components like ESP32, LCD's and other modules, if anyone have had the prior experience.

My Aliexpress package has moved to Durban Speed services. For a moment I though it may hint at courier delivery? JIMC A Air letters - my first encounter with that in tracking packages. Don't really think speed services would be delivering my package to the door though - maybe they were the carrier from JIMC to lnb.

My tracking is a bit different to @Rouxenator in that after arrival at linehaul office it had customs clearance and then received by local delivery company. At which point the tracking started to show up on https://trackingnew.postoffice.co.za.

I received my Banggood package today via buffalo, it arrived in SA on the 21st and was ordered 2 weeks after the Aliexpress package. I expect to factor further fees at the post office too.

EMS used to take 3-4 days. From anywhere.
