Oscar Pistorius: The Sentence

The Jub Jub sentence of the NGHC (in setting aside the murder conviction) would make a sentence in excess of 8 years out of sync with current sentencing of that division
 
If there is something I have learnt during this trial...

You can kill someone, you just need to be all cut-up about it and be overly dramatic about your "remorse" then you will get away with murder. Literally.

It actually makes me feel quite ill.

would be my IANAL guess - looking over the Sentencing Reports (which I must say are awesomeness if still in infancy) for CH even with the patent wrongfulness (high culpability) whilst a 15 year sentence is possible it doesn't fit in with prevailing sentencing

Of course there is a massive discord between sentencing brought about by that travesty legislation of 1997 that underlies so much injustice in our criminal justice system.
Moreover I am waiting to study the reasoning of the High Court on the Jub Jub matter both as the sentence appears unduly lenient and because it appears from the media reports that the court narrowed its application of the SCA in Humphreys - the Humphrey's decision is authority for conviction IF proved

Yep, it's so fking easy to make the system work in your favour if you have a lot of money.

He wants to run again for a living :mad: He wants to return to his flashy life. Reeva's death was nothing but a distraction to him. **** this crippled SOB.
 
730.5 hours average per month

16/730.5 = 0.022

Reeva's Life is worth (at most) 2% of Oscars.
 
Oscar should do community hospital service in countries hit by ebola.
