So I bought 2 ostrich eggs. I want to make breakfast for quite a few people on Saturday morning. Any food ideas for me? I want to keep the egg so will drill a hole at the bottom and drain the egg out.

Keep it simple & scramble? Maybe some lightly fried ostrich steak strips and caramelised onions to complete the bird.

LOL, I've never eaten ostrich egg before so I'm actually looking quite forward to it. Plus we are having a large amount of people over so I want it to be nice without breaking the bank.

For now ther'll be two loafs of home made bread as well. Just thinking of what I can still add. I'll just scramble it, to much effort to do omelettes for so many people.

Omelette isn't actually any more effort than scrambled.

For my little family yes, but not for so many people.

scrambled FTW

bacon is a must but dont break the bank on it, offer ea person 1 strip

to compliment the scrambled egg i would have it on toast with a side portion Chakalaka
the 3kg tin goes a long way, less than a 100 bux

I've atcually got a few tins of chakalaka in the cupboard. That's a good idea actually. maybe just add some bacon and Chakalaka.
Nfi. The orgies I attend don't focus on the morning after.

I can imagine you would like a large hard egg.

i hope it turns out lekker on Saturday
if it does @I.am.Sam will club in next year and get you some more Ostrich eggs for your birthday

How much are they by the way?

I paid R59 for one at the Pick & Pay in Oudtshoorn. I actually regret not buying 2 more.

that's not bad at all

I have no idea how much they normally cost, just saw them and decided to buy it. They had ostrich sausage when I was there on Thursday, wanted to buy some of that as well but it was sold out by the time I went back. That would've gone well with the egg and the home made loafs.
