OT: ANC Elective Conference

Trevor Manuel
Pravin Gordhan
Mcesibi Jonas
Nelson Mandela (until 2013)
Dali Mpofu (until creation of EFF)
Joel Net****enzhe
Mathews Phosa

I would bet that any of these people is intellectually worth several times your mind.

But sure, the DA is not corrupt, has no convicted, or dishonest people amongst them and has real policies (apart from not resolving water crisis, raising local taxes and criticising the ANC).

Amazing these people who can't see anything between black and white.

Nelson Mandela (until 2013) - he has been called terrorist many a times on this forum - so he is out
Pravin Gordhan - did not vote for zuma impeachment - out
Trevor Manuel - was in Mandela's ministry - see point 1 - out
Mcesibi Jonas - Pravin's deputy - should have publicly castigated pravin when PG did not vote for zuma impeachment - out
Dali Mpofu (until creation of EFF) - he is in EFF - out
Joel Net****enzhe - wasn't he government spokesman at one time ? - out
Mathews Phosa - can't find anything on him

So..one ANC person against millions of non-racist, highly skilled DA supporters with moral mindset of Dalai lama? pah, it is a no-brainer

You've shared this anecdote before, any place where we can read up on it?

That would reveal who I work for which is not ideal here.

It was a tender for smart meters and upgrading of the electrical infrastructure where we pay ourselves on a share of the electricity profits only (knowing that this municipality was making losses on it).

Hmmm...is the municipality in MP? :D

All those tenders seem to be tainted by scandals and huge losses for the rate payers.

How there be a huge loss since rate payers are not paying anything and have an upgraded infrastructure (with SLAs for the faults while before they had +-6h of cuts per week)?

And we are not paid anything if the municipality doesn't make profits from the electricity, losses are strictly impossible for the rate payers?

The payments to Eskom are fully ring-fenced, meaning that Eskom will be paid, which can help a lot of loss-making municipalities to control their budget.

I doubt you can speak of "all these tenders" since this particular example is a novelty in SA.

Dodged a bullet there then, imagine all the call outs to repair boxes/lines/whatever that have been tampered with to give bottomless free electricity.

That's also our scope to fight this.

We have alarms from the meters + teams patrolling.

If the municipality doesn't make a profit, we're not paid so we better ensure as little losses as possible and the most efficient equipment.

As you can see, it’s a blog, so the articles are probably not approved by the HP before publication and they most likely allow this guy to have people from “all boards”.

It’s not an article, just a crap piece of opinion but the guy has the right to express his crap.

Sometimes I just cannot believe the **** I read by supposedly respectable publications.

Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma's Loss Is The Greatest Heist In South Africa

That's all you need to know really.

There's an element of truth in one paragraph:

Cyril Ramaphosa won because Mabuza supporters voted for him, DD Mabuza won because NDZ supporters voted for him, and NDZ lost because Mabuza supporters didn't vote for her.

The writer is apparently not aware that the "heist" was Mabuza getting power - which he will make full use of - rather than NDZ losing. That heist is extremely bad for RSA.

The moment Zuma heard Ramaphosa was elected.

It's a "that's-it-I'm-****ed" expression.
