Say one's brother was downloading excessively off Kazaa and one would want to block the Kazaa port, how would one go about it? Seeing that he is networked to me then to MyWireless....

If anyone would like to help, I'd appreciate it :P
 
WHat proxy server are you using, just close the ports.

Kazaa use the FastTrack protocol, which is beautiful, almost impossible to successfully block without disallowing NAT.
I suggest you get a program like Bandwidth Controller and just limit his total Internet speed.
If you run a linux gateway, there's a little program called FTWall which basically actively blocks the FastTrack protocol by interpreting it and blocking nodes in realtime.
Have a look at http://www.lowth.com/p2pwall/ , they have a good explanation of the Kazaa protocol.

In this hypothetical case, alt.sysadmin.recovery would probably recommend applying a LART (Luser Attitude Readjustment Tool e.g. baseball bat) upside the head until the desired traffic is achieved. Equally effective is Christensen No. 5 sidecutters on the cable.

Thanks for ur help... unfortunately im just running windows ics for now, linux box got taken away :(
 
This is obviously a hypothetical case, as it would be impossible for anyone to download excessively through MyWireless. [:)]
 
I trust that your Linux box was not 'taken away' so your brother could use it to download?
