I dont want a pet who does what IT wants to do, I want a pet who does what I want it to do. Otherwise I could have just adopted a teenager. Speaking of clever pets, what do you call an intelligent blonde? A golden retriever [;)]

Malec, I suppose that means you can't be married and having a cat then ? Nothing worse that having a pet AND a wife who does what IT/SHE wants to do LOL

Cats are awesome animals... we have a 6 month old person named Fudge - he's SUCH an entertaining critter... :) this is a TAD offtopic though :)

Tip just do net let them into the bedroom. You will wake up with them sleeping on top of you. Throw them off the bed and you get thrown out of the bedroom by the wife.

Torlin, reading your post I thought to myself : What's so bad about waking up with her on top of you, then I realised you're talking about the cat LOL

Hi Everyone

I was going through Google and picked up on the thread mentioning www.haloweb.co.za ,well I hate to sound bias but I do believe we are the best, our average support turn around is between 30 minutes and 3 hours and we do have the best priced hosting plans :) and are still willing to make deals and customised plans on top of it all.

If there is anything else you would like to know just ask

Nice to see you here haloweb! Good to see service providers caring enough about customers and potential customers to come and talk in person.

Keep it up...

Regards
Antowan

That Linux penguin on your frontpage is very special to me and then using Mambo for your Portal makes me smile from ear to ear!

Good luck with your business.

Cheers
Antowan

Haloweb, do you host locally or internationally ?
Unfortunately, thanks to Telkom, that's often a big issue when choosing a hosting company in South Africa. I pretty much have to go with someone who hosts locally due to the widespread prevalence of ADSL with it's 3gig cap.

It would be difficult to explain to my clients that they cannot access thier email because they used thier entire 3gig cap up half way through the month :D

Hi Everyone

Thanks for the welcome Antowan :)
Glad you like the penguin - everything we do is related to opensource
one way or the other, all our servers operate on linux, there is nothing better :)

bb_matt our servers are at international data centres in the USA and in the Netherlands, unfortunately things here in SA are still way to expensive especially on the bandwidth side of things :(

We host many clients and with the local 3 gig gap on ADSL none of them have a problem anyways when it comes to email there should be no access problems.

I find that folks who experience over running on bandwidth do allot of software downloads and also dont disconnect thier adsl when not at the work station and leave their email clients open as if they were on a data line hence everything is running 24 hours and before you know it poof your over 3 gigs.

I did a test on this for 2 months the first month I disconnected everytime when leaving the work station, the next month I left things running, needless to say the second month I hit the 3 gig gap.

once again thanks for the welcome

I haven't tried it yet, but for R1799 setup and R999 monthly (on a month to month basis no long term contract) you can have a dedicated Win2003/Linux server in Texas with a 100mb bandwidth pipe and 1,2TB total bandwidth p.m. www.webafrica.co.za will set this up for you so that you pay in rands not overseas $ transfers.
