Outlook 2007 problem need advice

Hi

Well its on win8.1

It will at random times send receive (bottom right of outlook) then just freeze and stop outlook

Then if you close it and try to open it again it simply wont open the program,only by restarting the laptop does it open outlook again until the next random freeze

Please help!

The program is still running in the background, check task manager to confirm.
I don't use outlook (I use seamonkey) but download Malwarebytes https://www.malwarebytes.org/ and run maybe your pc is infected with malware

Malwarebytes found 3 infected files but it still froze up (dont think it was outlook files that were infected

You got all the updates for Office 2007 installed?

Outlook 2007 does not like it very much if your .pst file is around 2GB in size.
Either get rid of old mail by deleting it, or archives.

I have never had issues with Outlook 2003, or 2007, until I upgraded to WIN 10.
I have never archived any mails either. I have now spent some time creating backups of older mails older than 2000, and then a separate backup for 2010.

seems to have resolved all my issues.

try running Outlook in safe mode to determine whether it is an extension causing Outlook to freeze.

Start > run > Outlook /safe
