I need some help setting up one transparent (N.B) E-Mail account for Microsoft Office Outlook using multiple POP3 addresses.

I have an internal Netware server on my network that I connect to to download mail to the employees computers. I have set up my firewall and network so that the guys with a notebook can connect into the server and download mail over the internet whenever they are not at the office. This is where I have a problem. When I create two accounts, one with the internal address and another with the external address of the server, Outlook downloads the same message twice which is understandable.

Is there a way of transparently switching between available POP3 addresses (trying the internal address first) without the user knowing using just one account? Using a comma to separate POP3 addresses won't work...

Thanks,
Chris

Why not just use one account that the user always connect to?
And make that address accessbile from outside the LAN.

I guess the only way for me to do that is to setup VPN. I dont have any experience in VPN setup and the last time I tried it I killed my network :p

NP. I know this might sound stupid, but remember to tell the users only to connect with hamachi when they aren't at the office... :p

simply creating the POP server as myservername.myhostname.co.za and getting a dyndns account to point to that, then put a port forward rule on your router to forward port 110 to your email server, done.
