My MS Outlook been acting up for last 3 weeks. Keeps on sending "ghost" emails, but outbox is empty.
Anyone can shed some light onto why this is happening?
Btw... i access my gmail from outlook, been working fine & still is, for years on xp, dunno if win7 might b problem.
Did searches on net, none of those thearies, advice worked so far.

Are you sure it's not a virus or something nasty like that lurking in the background? Will be interesting to see if someone has any ideas.

What version of Office is it and How big is your PST file?

I had an issue here at work where a user sent an email to someone and then that person kept receiving the same mail continuously even though the user's outbox was empty and it turned out his PST file was too large. On office XP the limit is 2GB. I had to create a second PST file and move his stored email folders he had created across to the 2nd file and then the emails worked fine.

Might be worth checking that out. Let me know if it helps or let us know some more specs.

Office 2010 Standard, using it to send/ receive mail from gmail account.
PST file is 1.4GB.

Save the files under C:\Users\ your username \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook

Delete your Mail Profile in Control Panel -> Mail -> Profiles.

Create a profile.

Copy over the files that you saved before.

You won't have ghost mails anymore.
