hi all

So im working from home and this is the 3rd time my outlook starts updating my sent items

I did it the 1st time and it went back over a year and updated ...took like 4gb data

The 2nd and 3rd time is does the same thing

Why does it do this and how can i stop this as i am on a capped work data account

Set your Outlook to download all emails. Go to some friends house that has uncapped:

Perhaps your Outlook file has a corruption?

Set your LAN/WiFi as a metered connection.
It should put Outlook in offline mode when you start it. Just go online when you need to receive or send mails.

A metered connection helps with saving data on Windows or Linux by disabling updates of the OS or other software.
You can check for updates manually without turning off the metered option.

Also. Download of all mails would be best, but it is going to use some data.

Mmmmm sync settings should not cause this. Do you have a rule running ?

how do you fix a corrupt file

If your mail is all located on an internet server, I have found its best to just create another mail profile under Control Panel section mail. And Sync again from scratch.
Again, this is being drastic but should help you out.

Depends on the outlook version,it's gotten progressively better as time goes on

Newer ones can cache only recent mail and leave the rest online

And I thought that my employer's tech support was bad. I now realise that the warm bodies in support are actually better than fsckll. At least they ask you how you are doing.

a corrupt email account in exchange could also cause this.

an admin would need to delete and recreate the account.

thanks all for the suggestion im using the online app for now until i go to my buddy

i hate the online app but need to save data

thanks all

mybb IT support is better than most companies support

Yeah, I expected you to say OWA sucks....it does. :)

But for the situation, it does the trick. Still not sure why your sent items keep updating after it was done.
To be fair, if you create a new profile and it still happens, you will have a bigger issue.
