You do not even get reliable 3G coverage in the so called covered areas!

3G and HS coverage will be very similar

I have my speed stick and am not in a coverage area. Only EDGE, very very bad speeds unfortunately. Talking about 20kbps :/

They will be covered by mid Jan. At least you have the promo special because they will end it quite soon I'm sure.
That is why VC and MTN have not been worried about Cell C so far.

I doubt they will end the promo until they've an x amount of users on their network let's say 500 k users they need on bored. They have a target in mind

If you can get Vodacom 3G where you live, no, rather get VC for the speed (just the 60 day prepaid bundles, so that you have flexibility eg 2.3GB every 60 days (1st of month)).

If VC is only Edge as well, then get the 2G package for the price - speed may come later.

When I bought mine, there was special guy who demonstrated black dongle and shown it's speed on speedtest.

You can make wrong decission based on such statement. Some stores have indoor repeaters. Similar devices are usually installed in shopping malls. Check in your place with a borrowed modem, it is better to be safe than sorry.
