Thing is i dont think i was around when LP's were sold, i have no idea how much they cost why back when.
But wasn't cassets like R30? So whats the price of a good Usher cd these days?:p R200? Thats a 666% increase, they have alien inflation in the music business. 666 a coincidence :eek: i think not...

Well the music that i want musica does not have them. I like mixtapes and underground rap. And musica does not have Saigon, Master ace, Immortal Technique, Pharoah Monch, Canibus, Sheek lough ect. So screw them.
 
They've been fighting the piracy war for more than 30 years. At some stage one would think they'd get with it and do things differently but they cling like die-hards to their ancient business models.

Food for thought- as long as there is an analog chain involved i.e. somehow the music has to be reproduced in human intelligible form- there will be a means to bypass whatever "protection" they throw at it.

As for the music stores- they don't have the music I want either, so stuff them!!

I am sure that dude must have paid the record company to put his song out. How many of these plastic bubble teenybopper "music artists" these days can actually play a musical instrument? Without their computer doing it all for them, they're nothing!

I kind of agree, but you have to take into account that recording music in a professional studio costs a lot of $. Most bands would never had been able to record anything, to start off their careers, without selling out. Not defending it but that's how I see it.

@Turiko, I agree with your view of today's music, but I don't know the song you are reffering to? I like to keep myself nicely insulated from the sewage pipes of present popular music. :D

This guy is funny, but to the topic, it doesn't look like the stars are suffering from this, check their huge houses extravagent lifestyles, we the ones that need the money. If the didn't try to rip us off for charging us R100+++ for 21 or less songs more people would buy from them.
