Which brand would be recommended?

Looking for good quality non-stick, teflon coated, etc etc or whatever will making roasting easy :) :)

if it's for roasting maybe try a clay pot (made for ovens), PnP hyper stock them. they not non stick etc but apparantly roasts taste better in them :D bought one for the missus but she never really used it :( yet ...

don't ask me why it tastes better ...i don't know

A woman asking tech geeks for help on choosing pots and pans....... cool!

I believe that, like a cast iron potjie pot, a roasting pan benefits from a bit of seasoning. As a result none of the ones I use look particularly good. :)

Not really a oven pan, but I've put in in there and it works great on the stove - Tefal pans (Jamie Oliver Collection). We try to cook without oil/butter and you don't need any with these pans.
Don't know if they make any oven pans??

There are so many more posters here than just you geeks.

alot of peeps complain that the coating don't last very long ...

Exactly my problem.

I'd really like one that cleans easily ...

Bauer pans have some kind of recoating policy for quite cheap - and like r100 to replace them as well.

i can vouch for tefal ! they are awesome and do last a long time... a little pricey though but well worth it. i'm sure they probably sell one made for the oven as well. boardmans usually stock them.

9/10 when I roast I make a gravy, so the cleaning up bit is really simple afterwards. No idea about brands so I can't help you there - I highly doubt the brands will be of that much importance. I also do not believe that teflon coating is necessary considering the gravy making process...

Learn to make gravy (it would probably be a first for a South African though) :D

You're that hybrid Brit/American who occasionally ventures an opinion on wine :D

I suspect that I bake/roast at an oven temperature that is too high.

You do understand that Britain doesn't necessarily need to be a wine producer when we have the whole of Europe at our doorstep, right? :o

For what? Making gravy? Nonsense. You want to burnt bits when you deglaze - just don't forget to strain the gravy before serving. I'm assuming you know how to make proper gravy? (No, not boil kettle, add packet contents and stir goo vigorously)
