hi all

any particular reason why we dont have an overclocking section here? any thoughts on if its big enough to have one? I think we have a lot of good knowledge here going to waste!

I just think it would be nice to have a local OC resource here on mybb as right now most of us probably use all the international sites??

thoughts?

A completly seperate section to pc hardware would be cool , with subsections for ram , cpu-amd ,cpu-intel , and gfx would all be awesome

I'm hoping this is sarcastic, because if so then that was my thought exactly. Why do we need a seperate section? If guys are interested in overclocking then go ahead and discuss it in the PC Hardware section.

What next? Split the motoring section into BMWs, VWs, Audis.....

I dont see why not , mybb wanted to open a tech support thread the other day ...

Easy now... was just an idea!

If you follow international trends you'll see that sometimes there is a dedicated technical section AND a OC section...

EDIT:

my point is that a hardware section seems to encourage general hardware discussion... just look around, that has been proven. OC is more a specific topic, so OC peeps arent gonna post in a general thread. By having a specific section, it would encourage to grow a OC community

it's not a bad idea, I mean, I'm quite sure there are many people that want to overclock but don't want to ask or don't know what to ask etc. You could have an overclocking section in the hardware section. In the overclocking section you have a couple of those sticky threads which describe how to overclock AMD cpu's then another one for Intel cpu's (prior i7 and i7) and then gpu overclocking. Ram overclocking really isn't that important. you could have pointers on volts to use and how to overclock north bridges etc. I don't think it's a bad idea, and I guess it will also draw more people into the mybb site as a whole. We could maybe have competitions etc. I dunno, I just think it's a good idea :)

If you have an OC section it can have it's own stickies which is important especially for guiding newbies in how fsb/vdimm/vcore/vid etc works.

Will give us a place to look when we are capped and cannot look at the better known oc sites :)

the oc section is all about ePenis, the noobz will get slanted
hehehehe
