1. How does P10/P10 Plus battery compare to the P9 and P9 Plus?
P10 and P10 Plus features probably the largest battery in such a slim body, 3200mAh and 3750mAh(respectively) in just under 6.98mm slim form factor. Considering the more powerful processor and camera setup, P10 still sees a 10% improvement compared to P9 in overall battery life and P10 Plus with a 2K display, continues to maintain the impressive battery performance of the P9 plus.

2. Is the SuperCharge safe?
Yes. SuperCharge is safe by design, since it supports low voltage and low temperature charging. We have 5 detection gates to check temperature, voltage and current to further ensure the safety at any given time. The new 8 layer thermal distribution system also ensures any heat generated are quickly dissipated.

3. Why is there no wireless charging?
Today's available wireless charging technology is neither fast enough nor efficient. The charging speed is far behind Huawei SuperCharge. We believe the wired SuperCharge give users a lot better experience in terms of speed and flexibility. We are continuously looking for new ways to enhance the charging experience.

4. Does Leica style Portrait, Hybrid zoom etc. applies to Video?
Video is the next new space for innovation, at this moment, Leica Style Portrait and Hybrid zoom etc. are for Photos only.

5. How is P10's low light performance compared to P9 and the competition?
Due to the improvement in the monochrome sensor and the OIS ability, P10 lowlight performance has drastically improved vs P9. On P10 plus, it is even more obvious due to the larger aperture Summilux lens which is able to capture 50% more light. Overall the low light performance is on par with the best out there and exceeding the competition in some cases.

6. Is the Leica dual camera and Leica front camera really made by Leica?
In today's economy, many products are designed by one company and manufactured by another. Even popular brands design their products and outsource production. The Leica cameras are co-designed by Leica and Huawei, and manufactured and tested according to Leica's stringent criteria. This makes it a true Leica camera.

7. What is 4 in 1 hybrid focus? How is it used?
4-in-1 hybrid focus:
1. It includes: PDAF (phase detection auto focus), Contrast auto focus, Laser auto focus and depth focus (dual camera ability)
2. Laser auto focus works better in low light or closer distance, PDAF works better in brighter lighting, depth focus assists in zoom in to the focus range, and contrast focus backs up the above. So with 4 in 1, we can achieve fast and accurate focus in almost all situations

8. What's the maximum microSD card support?
Theoretically, it can be up to 2TB, however in reality, we've tested up to 256GB as there is no bigger size available yet.

9. Why did you move the fingerprint sensor to the front ?
The Fingerprint sensor placement is based on both function and design of a specifc phone. By placing the Fingerprint sensor on the front we managed to keep a uniform design language of flat surfaces on both the front and back. The new underglass sensor also provides new functionality such as smart touch gestures.

10. What's Ultra Memory, how is it helping the device performance? Does it mean I do not need larger RAM any more?
There's always a benefit of larger RAM, however even with large RAM, inefficient management of RAM will make it less useful. Ultra Memory focuses on the improvement of RAM usage efficiency via machine learning and artificial intelligence. The result is better managed RAM and improved overall experience.

Hope the updates are better as they really suck big time on my mate 9!!Same update from last year October!!

P10 Plus Issues

I upgraded to the P10 Plus in december. I was impressed with the phones speed and look and feel.

I had from day one a problem with finger press recognition, you have to press absolutely in the middle of the icon to open the app and it sometimes doesn't even recognise any presses.

Last week the phone just shuts off and i had to do a factory reset to get the phone up and running again. this worked for a while but as soon as you do something again it corrupts the OS again. After about 4 times having to reset the phone, it changed to just going off. you have to boot it again. The phone stays on but as soon as you open a app, it goes off again.

So yesterday I went to vodacom in Centurion mall, i had to book it in for repairs. I recieved a sms that it is now at the advanced repair centre. This will take 5-7 days to repair.?

So my question is, are there other people out there that also have issues with these phones. I asked the lady at the repair counter if they have any problems with phones doing this type of thing, she said especially on Huawei. I will report back what they did to resolve these issues.

So,

I got my phone back. Vodacom tells me they loaded new software and the phone is working. Test the thing in the shop, looks ok. As soon as I get to the office the phone corrupts the OS again. I went to the repair centre again, I insisted on a new phone. It first has to go in for them to make a decision. Will see what happens next week.

Absolutely none. At all.
I mean none.
Touch wood.
Even been dropped numerous times directly onto concrete (with a cover I might add;)) and not a crack or scratch at all...and never even a niggle with something not working after.

So def 1 BIG +1 there Huawei.
Elegant, slim, v robust phones and far less than equiv Samhung or Ipee.

I've been using HTC for 8 years, and in all honesty have been v happy with them...I sold my HTC One M8 end of last year which was a great phone in 2014/15/16 but sadly let down by a deeply disappointing 5mp dual camera which was absolute shyte and an even worse front facing camera! (I do astronomical imaging and modify DSLR's so photography is important aspect of my phone purchase requirements)

After returning back to SA 6 months ago after being abroad for 15 yrs...I realised I now needed to up my game. HTC's presence is almost non existent in SA so service and spares would be uber problematic.

The world of mob telecoms (LTE/LTE-A) plus a requirement for a powerful, capable multi core device capable of handling large apps with ease and a responsive gfx system and HD+ screen, but not phablet size to meet my day to day demands I settled on the Huawei P10 eventually after quite a bit of research.
I could have gone for the P10 Plus for same price but wanted something manageable between tiny Iphone5 and bulky P10 plus.

I'm so glad I did. It really is a all round fantastic phone and I can't recommend it highly enough.
Fast multi screen swapping and app loading , with responsive fingerprint security, stunning quality photos (RAW too ) produced with the Leica dual 20/12mp colour/monochrome camera and 4GB/64GB std mem/disk for 2/3 price of a similar spec'd top of the line phone from competitors did it for me.
