Ok so we have say 100 guys on local torrents who've been doing that for a while. I'm going to assume they have a lot of the same stuff since they've been going for a while.
Let's say a new guy joins and leeches like a mofo. 30 gigs later and evry one of those 100 guys have had to upload 3.3 gigs to supply him. Isn't the whole point of torrents that you dont need a 1:1 ratio so you can grab from a 100 guys and only get a little bit from each?
I understand that everyone needs to contribute otherwise the whole system falls flat cause you cant just have leechers. Why not institute different ratios based on how the guy uploads? Start him off high and go lower once he proves himself. Still dont see that you need a 1:1 ratio though.
Luckily this is all theoretical for me. Uncapped international and giganews ftw!
