So I recently started playing again. I had a shaman and decided I wanted to tank/heal. I thought paladin sounds great since they can heal, tank and dps. Well now that I'm level 48, I find tanking to be pretty easy. Ret is simple, yet also fun. Not having tried healing yet, I thought I'd look on the forums about holy spec. I find alot of people saying healing on a paladin is boring:( Ive put alot of work into this char and don't want to make any alts. However, if this character is going to become boring, I'd much rather make a druid so I can tank/heal (The trees are just too ******* awesome!). Sooo I need some opinions. Anyone with a paladin care to comment here? Thanks

If it becomes too boring playing a pally try rolling your face from left to right instead of right to left. This is a surefire way of spicing up your day :)

Healing is basically restricted to 3 or 4 spells with whichever class you go. Even with my druid I have started to conserve my mana to spice things up a bit.

Alternatively you can download a huge file to mimic the lat we had last night. Instant casts took 3 seconds and made the raids unbearable.

Priests don't use 3 or 4 spells. Priests have:

Prayer of Mending
Renew
Flash Heal
Greater Heal
Prayer of Healing
Circle of Healing (Holy only)
Binding Heal
Power Word: Shield
Penance (Disc Only)

Pallies pretty much heal with 2 spells: Holy Light and Beacon of Light. Beacon is refreshed once a minute. I believe Holy Shock is also used every now and then, but will only account for maybe 10% of your healing.

They have few heals but are extremely potent healers. They can keep up 2 tanks with relative ease (this of course depends on the fight). Pallies are always in demand as healers as they are the best tank healers at the moment. A bonus (or downside) to Pally healing is there is only 1 class and spec in the game that rolls on healing plate.

Play what you enjoy and don't worry about how "difficult" the class is. All classes are easy to play but require a good understanding of the class to master it.

I really enjoy healing on my paladin.

Its quite satisfying to know you can top off that 50k hp tank that pulled half of HC HoS in two casts. Or attempting Sarth +3drakes rush where the tanks hp bar looks like a roller-coaster gone wrong.

You're immortal , huge heals , huge mana pools.

Sacred shield is fun to play around with , especially when you spec/gear/gem into flash of light.

Ok lets begin.

My only character is a Holy Paladin. Level 80.

Paladins dont have 3 or 4 Spells to heal with.. thats bull ****.. Paladin healers are actually very very fun.

Let me give u a list of spell.

-Judgement of Light ( Which does heal you )
-Holy Shock.
-Flash of Light.
-Holy Light.
-Beacon.
-Sacred Shield. ( Now if you have taken the right talent.. If you place Sacred Shield on someone and use "Flash of Light" It will then heal over time. If the bubble is activated you then can crit 50% on anyone with Flash of Light.
-Glyph of Holy Light ( This will AOE Heal up to 7 Raid members. )
-Lay on Hands ( My favourite spell.) this is because it gives a crap load of mana back if you have the right Glyph.
-Most Talents for holy offer High Crits and Instant cast's Which is awesome because paladins are big healers.

<Your Seals also offer a veriaty of things.. Eg Seal of Wisdom gives you mana.>
You Must stack Intellect Gems.. You will find Paladins usually have the most mana out of any class. Even a Mage.
A paladin is know for its big heals which is nice like f0xZA said: "Its quite satisfying to know you can top off that 50k hp tank that pulled half of HC HoS in two casts."
In my opinion Paladins are single target healers and and are always needed in raids.

http://wow-heroes.com/ Take a look at my paladin, His name is "Noobieless" on the server "Darkspear" EU

Hope this helped

Best way to heal as a paladin and have it remain fun is to get blind drunk, then go for it ;)

For clarification, have healed on a priest, shaman and paladin, i will stick to healing on my priest thanks

I play a resto shaman as my main and I'm not allowed to raid sober. Not even allowed to climb into a vehicle in Ulduar without having a couple of drinks.

I spice things up by playing many alts. I heal on my shaman and my disc priest.

Ok, seems I can't really come to a conclusion. I LOVED healing with my shaman. Should I go druid due to that fact?

Just a thought but if it was really that great , maybe gosh i don't know , reroll shaman?

I recon you should go druid, theyre a hellava lot of fun to level and play with. The make fantastic tanks (give me a bear any day) and brilliant raid healers. HOTHOTHOHTOHTOHOTHOTHOT! Ive got a lvl 37 paladin and I am so bored of it. I hardly level it at all. I have a resto/enhancement shammy and arcane/frost mage at 80... and I wish I had leveled a druid instead of the shammy.

Rolled my durid as a tank now. Pretty easy to tank with. Not many buttons to push.

I tried durid healing and I still don't understand it.

What I have done is farmed gear for my alts. I have a set of resto and ele tier 9, shadow and disc tier 9 and now farming tier 9 for my druid. All Icc10 rated. In this way I don't get bored with my characters ;)

Ok, lets consider this: I don't want to make a single alt. I want to put all my time into one character only :D

Ahh... right... not an Alt-Lover like I am ;)

I'd go mad sticking to one character. Been raid healing on my shaman going on my 3rd year now.

But I must say you'll probably have more fun on a durid. DPS, tank and heal. Being able to stealth and also switch into bear form to emergency tank when the tank dies. Trees are also pretty tough to kill in pvp. They have the advantage of being able to heal on the move.

And one of the biggest bonuses to the durid is flight form. Love it. Its instant and I enjoy jumping off cliffs and switching to flight form ;)

My advice would be to roll a durid for a while. Get to about level 20 (won't take too long) and get a feel for the class and then make your decision.

I got an axe to grind against this class. Sorry, nothing that wears plate and can heal itself should be able to deal that much dps. There's just something fundamentally wrong with the direction this class has gone. At least druids for eg sacrifice aspects of their other roles if they choose to switch into one spcialisation - a boomkin can't heal in fat-owl form, and neither can a bear, for example. But a retnoob can still pop that bubble, heal himself back up to full and without sacrificing much of anything. DPS is still godlike, he can still cleanse himself, he/she stills has stuns and cc AND some of the highest burst that exists in this game. I as a DK have to SPEC for single target or AoE, he gets it all in one tree.

It's stupid. It's a stupid class, for stupid people who want it all and at the minimum of effort. I could care less if that offends. Tanks and Holy I grudgingly acknowledge... more or less... but Retrinoobs can all go straight to hell. Sorry pally's. I don't respect you. You can shove that bubble right up your rear.
