Hi All

To everyone that have been asking about fibre in Parow valley vumatel is waiting on the residents of Parow to show interest ... can we all get onto there website and leave a note of interest please .. Pathetic as far as I'm concerned they should have people canvassing the area for sales ....
Why should we be begging for a service provider in the the area or is there more to it than meets the eye as the saying goes...
Guys lets do something to get the ball roll ..

Most people I know in Parow have submitted interest. I don't know anymore what's preventing them from rolling out. Octotel seems better imo due to no heavy installation fee, but I'm not sure how fast they roll out. Either way try both, we need fibre urgently.

Don't get excited, my area has been grey from octotel from last year AUG

They applied for permissions, but then just left it.

But it does makes sense lay fibre there, should be able to make money.

Webafrica seems to be taking pre-orders with an expected rollout date of September 2020, keeping my fingers crossed

Octotel was busy in parow valley stopped work and doing another area by the looks of things .. they missing who knows when they'll be back ...

I wonder if they have stopped working or maybe they cant work in the rain? An Octo rep also told me that they were going to trench mid Aug when they only started in September. Its getting frustrating now. Who knows if we will have fibre before 2021...

Started trenching in klipkop this week. date: 7 September 2020.

Looks like everyone (Parow Valley and Klipkop) has grey-wall boxes from Octotel at this point. We will probably be live Mid-January 2021. On another note, Openserve has been spotted doing lots of work in the area and a resident was asked permission to gain access to the pole in their backyard or to put in a new pole regarding fibre.



this was the card he produced when asked for authentication. so its very likely we'll have Openserve soon , but who knows?

Did receive my router from Afrihost. Did not open it. I am itching though, to test it
