Hi all,

I need to do a course like the below from Web Design Academy:

Introduction to Web Design with Dreamweaver CS6 – 1&1/2 Days
Advanced Web Design with WordPress – 1&1/2 Days
HTML5 & CSS3 -1 Day
Social Media Marketing – 1 Day
Flash with ActionScript Complete – &1/2 Days
Design for Mobile Complete – 1&1/2 Days
Search Engine Optimisation – 1 Day
Graphic Design For Web & Print – 2 Days
jQuery For Web Designers – 1 Day
e-Commerce With WordPress – 1/2 Day
PHP & MySQL – 2 Days

But I need to do it part time, instructor led, quick and dirty like the above, and in Gauteng.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Does anyone actually use DreamWeaver? (serious question, I don't know of anyone)
Flash? wtf? 10 years ago that might have been a day well spent.

Yeah don't know why they would do Flash. Also don't know anyone who uses Dreamweaver, but see Adobe keeps bringing out new versions of it... I figured it would probably be easier on a quick course like this than having people code in Notepad++.

I would think that VS Code would be ideal for a course like this.

Atom https://atom.io
recently changed from Sublime and it's really slick once you get it looking right and configured to your own style
Have a look at "Atom Awesome"

Or Visual Studio Code
(seems pretty cool but I got stuck on Atom)

BOth Free and small

I tried it out, it's okay, only feature I like more on it for web development is the ability to insert along multiple lines, e.g.
<tag> asdf </tag>
<tag> asdf </tag>
I can select to write on both lines at the same time. Copy-paste works just as good for me. Also the code snippet insert is nice, though it's kind of bloated.

I'd still rather use something like VS Studio, though I have a friend who can't use it properly on his Mac (it's really stripped down)

Going to try out Webstorm again, I previously used it for Angular 2 and it was quite nice to use, quick to start and a lot more intuitive shortcuts (imho).

Webstorm or VS code. Mac or Windows

With both you can use emmet/zen coding and multi line editing. They are also far superior in JavaScript support.

WebStorm's Angular2 language service and typescript support is great. I favor it, mostly because I use IntelliJ too

To me there is no reason to want to use Dreamweaver
