Yep every 60k on a DSG box.

Best to stay away, DSG will give you issues eventually.
 
what Audi is it? i think B8 had oil consumption issues
 
If an owner didn't even bother to do a "free" minor service (60k service should still be within service plan), I would not even touch the car.

If its a 1.4fsi motor, even more reason to walk away.

2014 Q5 2.0 TDi Quattro so the engine is good, the gearbox is the ZF version of a DSG and it is the Torsen Quattro unlike smaller Audi's which use the Haldex version like in my current Golf.

The oil consumption issues you are referring to, the infamous piston ring landing issue? A lot of petrol VAG engines had this issue including 1.4T, 2.0T, 2.5T, etc.

That is exactly what I thought, a service may be an inconvenience but if you aren't even paying for it, what reason could there be to skip it? I won't touch anything with the 1.4 TFSi motor in, even the latest version which I hear is quite good. I am now looking again for a replacement for my Golf.

Out of interest, is the gearbox not the same as the 30TDI Q5? We bought a 2009 model for my fiance not too long ago

you should be okay with 2.0TDI quattro engine. but it will leave a smile on your face and reduce you demerit points to zero with speed fines :laugh:

They pretty good , but it still uses a cambelt is just insane for this type of car. Most newish cars has been using chains for a quite a while.

If the 3.0 V6 TDi uses the Stranic gearbox then yes, it is the same ZF sourced DSG type gearbox. I am not too familiar with the Q5 range but Audi makes use of manual gearboxes, torque converter based automatics, twin clutch based automatics and CVT based 'gearboxes'.

I hardly get speeding fines, I must be the only Golf R driver with over 50k km's on the original tyres, I really don't drive her hard at all :X3:

Not entirely, having driven my R for a while now and been in a few 'quick' cars, if you are looking for something to use everyday which has some practicality to it and can get you to the other side of the legal line, an R is a great choice. It has been an otherwise perfect daily for me for just over three and a half years I have owned it but there are a few reasons why I was never going to keep it beyond three to four years.

If I had more disposable income and space I would maybe look at keeping the R to use every day but I don't and since the Automotion plan ends December 2020 it is a good time to look at letting her go. I am looking for something more practical, not only on a daily basis but for weekends as well as I started mountain biking again, my girlfriend and I have two dogs that we take out with us much as possible as well as away on weekends. I am also looking at freeing up some money, to save, to kill off our bond, etc.

Sensible stuff aside, I am looking at getting something exciting for the weekends which I don't need to rely on to get work on Monday mornings.
