I tried helping a friend use GPRS/Edge on his Vodaphone branded Motorola V360. He can use VLive, but when trying to use Vodacom as internet it asks for a password. When his cell no is entered in the forgotten password box it says the phone isn't registered on the Vodacom network. The phone also doesn't connect at all using *99# on a PC. Anyone know how to sort this out?

There is nothing to sort out, as there is nothing wrong.

All you're seeing is the default homepage, which is www.vodacom4me.co.za. You're seeing that page becoz you arent registered on Vodacom4me.

If you want to access the website, you will need to register. Go to www.vodacom4me.co.za.

All you and your friend need to do is use the function "Go to URL", type in the webpage (for example wap.google.com) and Bob's Your Unlce :)

Ah, ok. Never used the branded phones before. Any ideas on getting it working on a Pc? My MTN V360 connects without problems but his phone fails to connect when using *99#.

Change the profile from VLive to Vodacom in the Browser Settings of the phone. Try that.

I've double checked that the default profile is Vodacom. It still doesn't want to connect. As far as I can tell the problem is when it tries to authenticate during the dailing process. Vista just shows a message that there's a problem with the network and it can't connect - not a very helpful message.
