The connector isn't brilliant. It's very loose and falls out easily. I don't know how it compares to the modified MCX connectors. Keep in mind that it is not a proper pigtail as it doesn't have an N-type connector on the other end. The N-type connector alone is about R100. I didn't use a N-type connector though: I just stuck the open end of the cable through the coffee tin, making sure the shielding made good contact with the metal. The inner wire was the correct length (30mm), and I have that standing upright inside the coffee tin.
I think Poynting now has the proper connectors as they said we'd get them with the antennas we ordered from them.
