For the last couple of evenings I have had absolutely pathetic speeds on MWEB uncapped 4Mbps!! I left Afrihost because of this ****. All I want to do is be able to watch youtube videos without waiting for the video to buffer for half an hour. This is rediculous. Is there any broadband provider in this country that can actually ***** provide a broadband service????

PS. I have done the whole <username>@mweb.co.za instead of <username>@dslmweb.co.za no difference.

I also left afrihost for the same reason, and now i seem to be in the same situation as you with 4mbps Mweb , to be honest ive just given up

im thinking there is tech issues at the moment me too also a tad slow, getting about 313Kb/s as apposed to the 650Kb/s i was getting 2 days ago. im on 4mb uncapped.

Hi Boerseun

We are moving our customers off the SAIX Wholesale network back onto our own network as part of our upgrades. The last of those migrations will happen on Monday next week and the upgrades should all be done by the 1st week of October. Please monitor and keep us posted.

Kind regards
MWEB Operations

How do you get 650Kb/s from a 512Kb/s line? Around 28% faster than line speed.

Okay, so the mweb.co.za honeymoon period is effectively over? :( Was bloody awesome while it lasted... I take it the shaping profile in place at dslmweb.co.za will now apply to mweb.co.za as well?

That is 4MBits- which gives you a max line speed of 512 Kilobytes...

you said:

No where prior to that did you say anything about your line syncing at 8mbit.... so I did read your post, and your maximum line speed acording to your post is 512Kbytes/s

Yes - on 8Mbit you can get that speed, but not on 4Mbit.

Ok i apologise, prob should have made it more clear:o, well being moved onto mwebs network 650Kb/s thing looks like its gone forver :(

See - now we agree - I was also getting full line speeds... now I'm getting less than 100Kb/s

As far as I have experienced mweb.co.za has been shaped since Tuesday.

Thankfully WebAfrica came to the rescue.... Thank you WebAfrica, for showing MWEB how it should be done.

MWEB 2.7 Mbps on speedtest.net
WA 4.03 Mbps on speedtest.net

Wow, normally you remove a workaround only once the problem is fixed, No?
