Its not like Super5Media will launch IPTV services this year or next year, why prevent them from launching satellite TV services?

Because if they have been granted a license under shady terms, then it needs to be investigated and sorted out NOW. Not 2 years down the line, when it is too late, but now, before they start using their license. Once a ship sets sail, it is very difficult to change the sails.

The playing fields need to be fair, for all operators. The TV industry is already suffering because of a monopoly held by Multichoice. Why allow it to get more screwed up, just to save a few months of litigation? Its the principle that is important - a precedent needs to be set.
