Pay up or else, ICASA warns

ICASA warns operators to pay their outstanding radio frequency license fees or face seizure of their equipment and closure of their business

Hmmm, ICASA, like government, are happy to enforce payment immediately but reluctant to do anything else.

I suppose it's asking too much for them to adopt that same hard cop attitude on LLU and IPC pricing

To confiscate the equipment they would first have to find it. And we all know they can't even find their own arseholes.

Came here to say that.

And if they don't pay we'll be in for another round of never ending court cases!

More threats from government institutions against private businesses. Seams like this has become the order of the day. Amazing if you take the other article into account, where Telkom are currently paying less than 50m for its spectrum but as of next year it will have to pay 950m for the exact same spectrum...

Not exactly. Telkom currently use much of their spectrum for free. When they start getting billed at the same rate as everyone else then the R922m fee kicks in.

I bet they don't even know who owe them, so this is just a quick way to update their customer list.:D
