PC Build: Kill Your Console

Always been a PC gamer :) , donated my old rig to my brother-in-law now I want a new setup LOL

Look at the build Soul Assassin recommend to me... I think is more than affordable, just need to buy some of the components on Carbonite (CPU + GPU). I wanted to buy a PS4, but I decided to build a PC for the same price. And that build rapes the PS4 by far!

Nah, I don't want to OC... That is why I bought the non-K i5. Sokum wants to OC, I think.

Not you, just wondering if he's gonna OC because if he's not he's wasting a lot of money he could spend elsewhere on the system.

Just one thing to keep in mind with that MB, it has no USB3 headers for USB3 connectors on the front of your case should you require some. I have the same MB.
I hear what you are saying. I am chilled. I'll plug everything in at the back of the case anyway.

You can also use the money you save on the motherboard and buy a USB 3 hub and you are sorted.

How much did you pay for the desk?

Good idea! But, I think 2 inputs is enough for now... I don't have USB3 input devices either.
Cost me R550 + FREE DELIVERY! Bargain, and it is sturdy wood! Will upload pics if I install them in my room.

WHOA , saw this on Amazon , with a rebate comes to about R2400 shipped ok given I don't stay in US but it seems they ship GPU's to SA (NOT that I trust SAPO either) ..... guess local is better ....

Guess I will have to start saving .....

Nah, 550W will be fine. I doubt your entire system will be much more than 350W at full load.

GPU 250W TDP, CPU 84W TDP.

http://www.eteknix.com/powercolor-r9-280x-turboduo-3gb-graphics-card-review/16/ that's with a 130W TDP CPU and you never gonna stress things out like in that furmark load test in day to day use.

Newegg recommends a 500W PSU for that GPU.

EDIT: Wtf, where did your post go?

Agreed - The R9 280x pulls about 250W at max (approximately 21 Amps, on the 12V rail). The Corsair VS550, has about 504W on the +12V rail with 42A

Thanks for the replies guys! Okay cool. What is your suggestions on a modular PSU?
Sorry ponder, I deleted the post... Because I made a mistake on the minimum requirement.

The cost escalates a lot when you go modular (almost double in some instances) and it's harder to find modular in the smaller rated PSUs. You get some cheaper ones like thermaltake but I would be wary. Secondly do you want fully modular or semi modular?

EDIT: Only saw ponder's reply now...

Uhm, I don't think it is necessary... I was just thinking about cable management. I want a neat and tidy case.
