Pc help :(

ok... so it's seems like i got a harddrive problem... at first, I thought it was a virus... but then I tried to re-install windows... and it says that there's no harddrive detected... what happened was at first... my pc froze... then, on later discovery, when I tried to restart my pc... It would freeze on start up. that means I can't get important data thats currently on the harddrive... but then when i tried to format the dam thing, It just dies... I then noticed that it's getting REALLY REALLY hot over the silicon chips on the drive... so I do think that it's finally given in... so can you guys also just direct me towards the best/cheapest sata hard drive around? I did have a sata 80 gig (that is until it died on me). I got some friends who can help me with getting the data off the harddrive...

250 or 320GB is just a hundred or two more than a 160 which is about R500...

Strange indeed, how old is the drive? You can run Seatools if you can at least get the bios to detect it, that'll do a thorough analysis of it
