PC vs PS4

I am looking to get into gaming. Would a PC be better or PS4? PC is more versatile though. Spending around R7K-R9K
 
Depends what games you have your eye on. If you're really into Uncharted, inFamous, Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet etc. then PS4 is the only way forward.

I'm a PC gamer, but I have a PS3 for the console exclusives I want to play. When the PS4 has a decent catalogue I'll pick one up too, probably a year or two from now.
 
get a decent pc , more games !

ps4 is limited atm , but getting some more soon!

watch dogs and drive club coming soon!

I have a decent pc and a ps3 and have noticed that games on both platform are always cheaper on the pc. PC might be more expensive now but in the long run the console is costly. On top of that couple of years from now you can sell your GPU + CPU and upgrade and improve the the gap even further between the PC and PS4. My vote PC.

I don't have a gaming PC but my PS4 is a great console.

And if you have a few friends that own one then you can swap out the SP games.
 
Well i considered a PS4 until:

Go to a shop selling PS4 games, look the price. Then walk over to the PC section, look at the prices, then go home and browse steam and look at the prices.

We are talking R750-R800 for a PS4 game and the price on console games generally don't drop much over time, in a year it will probably be R500-R600. Compared to a good chance you will get a PC game -at release- for R450 and in a year's time for R200.

So on PS4 your gaming will probably revolve around renting + second hand sales unless you got some money to burn .

Think about that...
 
My thoughts were also that pc is cheaper. I buy at wholesale prices and claim vat back and depreciate over 3 years. I dont really know many games . Only know BF4 that i played on ps4 and was really good. U get that on pc too. Maybe some racing game. Drive club looks good but not sure if on pc?

When u play on pc do u use keyboard mouse or can u add controller?

Be gentle i am gaming virgin. Who will help me put a pc together?

Depends on the game. FPS games I use mouse and keyboard. For platformers I use my 360 controller.
 
I must add though, the resell value of PS4/Console games are 100% more than PC games. So i guess one has to work that into the equation, i.e. you can actually sell that R800 PS4 game after you are done and probably get R400+ back (and thus essentially paying R400 or less).

In contrast, you can't do this with PC games, hence why i think they are cheaper. Obviously if you are in the habit of collecting games and replaying them, then the PS4 route won't be economical at all.

To be simple:
Steam is just a digital distribution, after that its where all your purchases are kept.

A) Buy it directly from steam / Buy steam key and activate it.
B) Download it via steam.
C) Play the game.

NOTE: You have to have the steam for all three.
