Dear MYBB users

Last week my PCI wireless card just stopped working. Below is the issue I have and wonder what actually happened before I go and buy a new one:

1) Wireless card was working fine ( for more than 1 years )
2) I decided to let my wife install a new cheap wireless printer ( as I needed a scanner )
3) When I returned home my Wifi Card just did not work. I had received emails during the day ( onto my home PC so it was working ).
4) Router still worked as mobile devices could access network.
5) There were no conflicts in the Device manager ( PCI cards )
6) My old Card had no LED lights working at all.
7) My graphics card covers the only other possible PCI slot and I do not have a connection to use the on-board graphics adapter to test the 2nd PCI slot on the mother board.

What are the chances that the PCi card just stopped working?
What are the chances that the motherboard slot stopped working?

As I dont feel like buying a new PCi card only to find its the Card slot.

Completely remove and re-install the card driver. Test it. If still faulty try and get another card to test. Or take your card to another PC and test to see if it works.

Is the printer HP? I've had issues with HP drivers off the disk, for some reason they seem to install better when downloaded off the net. Perhaps the HP driver somehow borked your driver files.

Hi There,
Firstly uninstall what the wife installed. You may be able to do this by going back to a previous restore point.
If you system works fine then the installation of the printer is the problem.
You can then re-install the scanner/printer carefully and see if it did anything strange. If it again does not help then I would suggest that you re-install your PCI wireless card after installing the printer. You may have to uninstall and then re-install. With some devices they may overwrite files and you need to find the mix that works.

Regards Tim
