pdf icon not showing after upgrading foxit

I upgraded my foxit readre to 4.3
After installation all my pdf icons don'tshow. Itried uninstalling and reinstalling but still nothing.
I cannot manually select an icon from windows explorer as that option is unavailable.
I tried right clicking and selecting "open with" and reassociating it with foxit 4.3 but still no luck.
What could be causing this?

Are you looking for the Acrobat Reader icon or the foxit reader icon?

Windows 7 has a file associations tool that should be able to fix this. Use it to associate the correct file type with the correct application. Maybe if you associate pdf's to acrobat reader and then back again to foxit, it should sort it out.

I don't have adobe. Also I'm using XP.
The icon that showed before the upgrade was a foxit icon

Restart your PC and see if it still happens. Otherwise, as per vinodh, you can manually try to rectify the situation with Windows' file association. You can also try to start your PC in safe mode and see if the issue still exists.

If you open the file does it open in Foxit? Do a repair installation of Foxit. Its most likely the file associations that need to be reset.

Check your file association.
Go to Tools>Folder options>file types.
Then check PDF is associated with Foxit.

If this does not fix it then maybe just re-install the program
