Peering link upgrade between UUNet and SAIX causes frustration to web users

A muscle we will flex,
A muscle we will flex,
Hey ho a diddly hoe,
A muscle we will flex.

This is just teklom reminding you about who eggzaktlee is in charge.

Im to tired to think about this anymore, these issues really drain you.

SLA's non-existent in South Africa

Can anybody please explain why this planned peering link upgrade was scheduled to occur in business hours. Surely this could have been done after hours, minimising the inconvenience to users.

This is not the first time that SAIX have done major upgrades during the day. I beg them to think about this and next time maybe do this between 2:00am - 6:00am. It is totally unacceptable to do this kind of work during business hours.

WebAfrica deserves credit in this area. They ALWAYS complete major changes to their infrastructure and servers in the early hours of the morning on a weekend, therefore minimising the downtime inconvenience. This is how it should be done - no exceptions.

Dear Franna,

It is very simple. Telkom's policy is to inconvenience clients, sorry 'SUBS'. Missing a perfect opportunity such as this is a dismisable offence and no loyal Telkom lackey would want to be dismissed would they? In this case, as it's a Friday one has to leave the office by 14:00 anyway.

Understand now?

Love

Cynical Sue

Telkom will compensate

....and Telkom will reduce my bill this month for the pathetic service I have been getting? Yeah right!!!!
