People flashing brights and causing with you ?

If someone flashes me from behind, and I am not doing anything wrong (eg driving slow in the fast lane) or whatever.. I just slow down until they get bored.

In my experience it is normally rude people in a rush who do this, and if they are going to be rude by flashing at me, I am going to respond by making them later than they are already.

You know that's illegal right?

nope middle lane doing 120, as i said its usually at like 1 in the morning on the way home from a club or going out.

the one was a black X5, could only see the two people in the front, i was on my own. Others i couldnt make out.

It is not illegal. My responsibility is to drive as safely as I can. If some tosser is trying to blind me with his lights I must then drive more carefully - and more slowly. I am not obliged to speed up, or move aside if it is not safe to do so, and that, especially at night, includes not moving over the yellow line. I see no benefit in becoming an accomplice to a crime - the other driver's reckless and negligent driving.

Best to keep the pace and drive to a police station as the others said. Careful of racing away as you might slip up - one mistake and they've got you.

Its possible that some nasty creature scammed people while owning the same car as you. I've had that problem before.

I only give bright lights to oncoming knobs who drive with theirs on. Or to have a lane hogger move over.

Happened to me coming back from a club in PTA a few years ago. I was giving two of the bouncers a lift so pulled over and three pissed teenagers got out of the car ready for a fight. The first lightie got smacked lights out and the others ran off back to their car and sped off leaving their mate behind. We picked him up, dropped him off in Hillbrow and I'm not sure what happened to him.

It was odd because I wasn't driving with my foglights on, nor was there anyone on the road at that time of night. It was just me and these twits who came screaming up behind me...

Don't know where you bought your license from, but one of the first rules is to keep left and pass on the right. If you're on the right and not passing anyone, then you're a lane hogging knob.
It is not illegal if you are not in the right hand lane.
He did say "driving slow in the fast lane" :)

By this I meant, I am not being a dick and driving slow in the fast lane, as an example of what would be wrong - for which I would expect to get flashed at.

Blind spot?

Actually had a similar thing happen to me many years ago. Guy in a Citi was with his girlfriend and I was in my RunX with my then girlfriend, and I noticed that he was following my every move (did that whole movie "indicate right, turn left" thing and he copied me as well). My girlfriend was scared stiff and told me to go to the police station, but I had a full tank of petrol so I figured I'd have me some fun first. Made my way to the highway and put petal to metal. Lost them between Malibongwe and Rivonia. All hail RSi, I thought.

A few weeks later, I ran into the same couple in the same car  This time I was with 3 male friends though, so I stopped at a robot, and he stopped next to me. Rolled down my window (my windows were very dark), and when the guy saw me he apologised profusely and said that he thought I was some friend of his, who had a car just like mine and also had a "foreign" number plate. We both laughed it off.

this has happened to a few of my mates over the years :/ are people really that stupid! i think whats happening in my case could be the same... see an oke alone in a car, and try and cause a fight on the side of the road.

Really baffles my brain!

I've flashed at people who drive with their rear fogs on, and lots do it. It irks me so much, it's blinding at night and makes brake lights less visible.

This might be why you get flashed. Sooooo many people do this! 99% of the drivers prob dont even know its one...where is that facepalm pic now...wait..that deserves a double facepalm... :p

Driving slow in the fast lane = not doing anything wrong? O....k....you do realise slow drivers also put other drivers at risk...its not just fast drivers? Why do you think one of the rules of the road is keep left, pass right? Carry on driving like you do...its a matter of time before its gonna come back and deal you a PK...thats for sure!

Dont be an ass..if you drive slow, keep left.

I think you're misinterpreting his post. IMO he is recognising that "driving slow in the fast lane" is doing something wrong.
