Period struggles.

She said: "It occurred to me, why am I changing my hormones... doing something drastic to my body just to go to a weekend festival?"

Uhm, or you could, you know, just not go that weekend...

So she can't take sanitary products along? Not being a woman, I legitimately don't understand the problem here and the article makes no effort to explain it either.

Did you watch the video, this was a news item with a 3 liner...

But I guess not understanding something simple like a leak...

Yes, deny us an existence for a 5 days a month...
Well the article is lacking an absolute shyte ton of useful details..

Are these outdoor festival organizers not providing any toilet facilities at all..? I would find that hard to believe, that at the very least porta potties are not being provided for a weekend festival..

In which case, is that not sufficient..? What else would be needed here..?

There's a 3 minute video where the women complain about a lack of clean sinks and stuff. From a South African perspective, I struggle to find empathy on this. We're still not giving girls enough sanitary products at school and whatnot. Worrying about someone being able to have less anxiety about their period at an outdoor festival somewhere, is pretty far down the priority list on my mind.

I agree..

If there are porta potties at these festivals, they typically have a little sink with running water..

I mean at worst you could pack a few bottles of water for the weekend and use that as an alternative to a sink..? Everything else you would need you should be having with you as default, irrespective of where you are..

Okay, read the article and still not getting the struggle. What is wrong with being on your periods at an outdoors festival? "So what if you're on your periods, blood never killed nobody"

Aside from the pain, discomfort and lack of hygiene and facilities at festivals, you mean?
