Been watching soccer on the Apple TV DStv app… Happy with the picture quality, processing and motion.

Watching MKR SA now, also happy. Can’t see any additional processing or motion issues.

Will test Netflix soon. Dark now so colours and blacks are popping.

Is the soccer okay on dstv app as someone else said it was artefacting

It’s probably the best quality DStv app/SuperSport stream I’ve seen. Not sure if it’s anything specific to the Apple TV as I haven’t watched any on the other TVs/platforms.

I’ll take a quick video.
 
Had to crop the above to bypass copyright checks. But hopefully the videos give a good idea of the picture quality of the DSTV app via Apple TV, which seems to remove processing (though I haven’t tested the DStv app with VIDAA). Also under the right conditions.

I don’t think I can fault these. Will test more Netflix etc. tomorrow.

We should all still share settings.
 
P.S. YouTube takes a while to offer the 1080p60 option for my videos.

At the price we paying for the a8h we can't really expect lg sort of processing...after all hisense is relatively new in the oled market and they seem to always have picture processing issues...i mean it is a budget brand. You usually get what you pay for but with the a8h I would say u are getting more. It is a 65" oled with hdmi 2.1 120hz, all that for r23k compare to lg or Sony usually over twice as much.

Agreed. It’s just weird that one can’t get simply get 24/60 FPS – why would it require processing in order to do this?

Also keen to check out gaming and see what the HDMI 2.1 ports can do. Will do some Xbox One X (son’s) later, and some PS5 soon. Xbox Series X has been a pleasure in the LG CX.

Also think I’ll be removing the screen’s plastic soon…
 
Something else, my Samsung soundbar is connected over eARC (pity it’s one of the HDMI 2.1 ports?) and I can’t seem to change its settings. Must be because the Hisense is controlling it? Need to fiddle a bit more.
 
Could some of these issues be linked to Vidaa’s level of setting optimisation VS their Android version in the U8H?

Apple TV settings. Using ‘Match Content > Frame Rate’ causes the ‘HDMI Signal’ notifications. I think the picture quality remains the same with ‘Match Content’ disabled, which removes the ‘HDMI Signal’ notifications.
