Yeah LG will have all the tech to mitigate all risks since they invested a lot in their R&D, Hisense not so much, its a dud straight from the warehouse.

Yeah I know that post C1, burn in is a non-issue with reasonably responsible use over say 5 years. But the problem is we keep our TV's for 10 years. Surely burn in will occur at that time frame regardless of how good current technology is.

Actually the same tech as the Hisense and it doesn't mitigate all risks, same as the old days when people always would say it was the same for plasma.

That is true, Burn in will definitely happen in 10 years, OLEDs are made to be disposable so keep that in mind. Only buy OLED if you are prepared to upgrade at least every 5 years.

Just a display demo model. It was Hirsch's clearance sale. 9-14 August. They had 55qn90b's for R8.5k and stuff. Probably not a good idea buying a demo oled though.

Depends on the usage I guess. Though I did see them in shops running the tech demo which should not have burn in. Cause its always refreshing

Yeah you're right they dont display static images. Only brightness maybe a problem

Something doesn’t add up.

LG and OLED go together ; and with as you say they have all this cash invested in R&D. And the technology fundamentally has an issue with retention and burn in

But an LG OLED from a few years ago doesn’t dim? Because they weren’t aware?
