Hisense just dropped its full 2026 TV lineup, and this year, it’s not just about brightness; it’s about color brightness.
From the wild 116-inch UXS with RGB + cyan backlighting, down through the UR9 and UR8 RGB MiniLED models, and into the U7 and U6 value kings — this is the full breakdown of what changes, what matters, and which TVs actually make sense.
I saw a lot of these in person, so we’re digging into how RGB backlighting works, what you gain (and lose) as you step down the lineup, and where the real value lives.
If you’re trying to figure out which 2026 TV is worth your money — this is one you'll want to watch.
Today I’m reviewing the Hisense UR9, one of the first RGB Mini-LED TVs most people can actually buy.
Hisense has been pushing brightness, value, and now RGB backlighting hard, but does this new tech actually make a meaningful difference when you sit down to watch real movies, shows, sports, and streaming content?
In this review, I cover the UR9’s pricing, design, Google TV performance, gaming and PC features, reflection handling, off-axis viewing, built-in sound, SDR and HDR measurements, color performance, and real-world picture quality.
I also dig into what RGB backlighting is supposed to do, where it shows up, and whether it feels like a clear upgrade over traditional Mini-LED TVs.
The Hisense UR9 is a gorgeous, incredibly bright flagship TV. The bigger question is whether RGB is the key to why it looks so good, or whether we need more side-by-side testing before making that call.
What is so wrong with the VIDAA OS? Why do people avoid it?
Oh ok, thank you for the clarification buddy. It is probably fine for most users, however it is missing a LOT of Apps (I mainly run a Google TV external "dongle" to get more apps).
Its absolutely terrible, turns your TV into a ****ing billboard with no way to switch off all the irritating adds. What is so wrong with the VIDAA OS? Why do people avoid it?
You don't have to use it? Why did you spend 15k on a Zidoo? You could've just gotten any media playerIts absolutely terrible, turns your TV into a ****ing billboard with no way to switch off all the irritating adds.
Probably one of the worst buys in my life.
I just dropped R15k on a Zidoo Z3000 so that I can watch movies of my mediq server without buffering, something that my LG 's can do without a hitch.
