Easy solution - ignore the Vidaa OS entirely and plug in an Android (Google TV) Streaming box - problem solved...

Does anyone know when we're getting the RGB Mini-LED range in SA and it's price tag? I've seen reviews mentioning pricing abroad being in line with high end OLED's which would be ridiculous.

I see the new models are already listed on the Hisense SA website

Is a damp spot on a TV under the 'glass' but above the panel possible, one that goes away after use or being in the sun for a couple of hours per day?

I have a 55U7H, yesterday I noticed what appeared to be an oblong shape about 10cm long in the middle of the TV that was only noticeable in some scenes of a movie or series dependent on if the background was very light or very dark.

I was initially wondering if the TV had been damaged in a house move three weeks ago.

Today the oblong shape is now a much smaller circle, about 1.5cm in diameter then I realized it could have gotten wet during the crazy weather we had in CPT 3 weeks ago and we had a roof leak.

Since the roof leak we hardly used the TV as we moved it to the dining room and I had not thought to check if it had gotten wet during the roof leak (we thought we caught it very early). We have only really been using it an hour or two per day in the last two weeks.

Perhaps this damp spot (if it's that) will be gone in a few days no permanent damage done?

TV was bought November 2023, so 2.5 years old now.

Edit: Another day has gone by and possibly the damp spot / oil stain is not visible any longer.

Hisense UR9 Review: The First RGB TV Test - Caleb Dennison​

Today I’m reviewing the Hisense UR9, one of the first RGB Mini-LED TVs most people can actually buy.

Hisense has been pushing brightness, value, and now RGB backlighting hard, but does this new tech actually make a meaningful difference when you sit down to watch real movies, shows, sports, and streaming content?

In this review, I cover the UR9’s pricing, design, Google TV performance, gaming and PC features, reflection handling, off-axis viewing, built-in sound, SDR and HDR measurements, color performance, and real-world picture quality.

I also dig into what RGB backlighting is supposed to do, where it shows up, and whether it feels like a clear upgrade over traditional Mini-LED TVs.

Its absolutely terrible, turns your TV into a ****ing billboard with no way to switch off all the irritating adds.

Probably one of the worst buys in my life.

I just dropped R15k on a Zidoo Z3000 so that I can watch movies of my mediq server without buffering, something that my LG 's can do without a hitch.
 
I also don't get the hate on the Vidaa UI. Perhaps I am not an advanced enough TV user.

I had/have a 55U7H which had to be replaced because my 9yo decided he should swing his arms wildly in front of the TV when switching it, resulting in the batteries flying out the remote and hitting the screen (battery cover is off as the clip broke).

Replaced it with a 75U7Q. I was using a Mistick on the U7H, but am using the TV apps now on the U7Q. I feel it has all the apps I use, and it has 1 ad banner at the top of the home page. To me the image looks better with the inbuilt apps vs the Mistick.

You don't have to use it? Why did you spend 15k on a Zidoo? You could've just gotten any media player

Only if you spend time on that menu / UI. But why would one spend time there? :unsure:
All my time is spent on the apps (NEtflix /Youtube) and never idle around on that menu. So no harm done.
People really find kuk to complain about... :rolleyes:
