[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time.

I'm going to buy a TV this coming weekend, the models I'm looking at is the 55" versions of the Samsung RU7100 and the Hisense B8000. They both cost the same. I want to use it for Xbox gaming and Movies in a pretty dark room.
I was pretty set on the Samsung because the Samsung name carries a lot of weight and it has a lot of good reviews on Takealot. But Saturday I went into a store to check out the picture quality for myself and the Hisense was a lot better. They weren't playing the same content though. But now I'm not sure anymore, I will really appreciate any help and advice.
I'm looking for Picture Quality and Reliability with Gaming and Movies. The smart features does not bother me that much as I can run the apps and streaming through my Xbox.

Thank you for taking the time.

Why are you suddenly not sure, even after you saw that the B8000 is better quality? Did something sway you?
The Hisense B8000 is better then the Samsung RU7100 by miles. The equivalent of the R7100 is the Hisense B7100 so its no contest. I have also seen a few people with issues regarding not being able to get 4k xbox working on the RU7100, so if you have the one S or X, get the Hisense as it works really well.

Hi Bradley

I'm also happy with my B8000,

I just want to check which settings I should change,

Please can you share your picture settings,

I'm currently getting a motion blur when watching soccer on DSTV now

Please advise

Thanks

I'm just concerned about the reliability of Hisense, I've read a lot of reviews and it seems that some people absolutely love them and others have real problems and then they struggle to get good customer service.

Well, they have a 4 year warranty, so if there are issues, its easy to sort out.

Ok, firstly, have you enabled HDMI 2.0 enhanced? Also, while I havent tested it, have you enabled that sports mode or soccer mode on the TV. That might help there, otherwise, it might be easier to share your settings and we can tell you whats wrong.

I'm on version J1127

Change Dolby Vision mode to Custom.

EDIT: Sorry, just tested it out on my set and I also cannot change backlight. Can change brightness though, which is not what you would want to change.

I think it has to do with DV specifying brightness in the metadata of the movie

When you on the brightness slider. And hit the down arrow doesn't it bring up the backlight setting. Was like that on my q8600. But don't know if it applies to DV

What settings are you guys using for adaptive contrast, ultra motion, and noise reduction?

Are you following rtings settings?

Noise reduction is on default, it went weird when I tried it, made everything look off. Adaptive contrast is off, and ultra motion is smooth for videos and off for gaming (game mode does that automatically)

Hi guys. Recently got a 55A6100UW
Played around in service menu last night and now my remote doesn't work on my tv anymore and i cant access home menu, settings menu, volume.. nothing.

Any way to fix it?..suppose reloading the firmware via usb? coz without the remote i have no way to get into settings menu or service menu to do factory reset from there.

Try connecting a USB keyboard or mouse

Hi Guys , im kinda new to these forums but im sitting with a dilema . I currently have a LG 55SJ8000V and its actually really really good the HDR and Doulby vision work fantastically with The Nvidia shield Pro 2019 . Problem is I want bigger So , do I go LG SM8600 or Hisense 65Q8600 , I've read that the hi sense is a better option at lower price , but is the picture that much better than the LG ? The LG is about 5K more so its a wak load more expensive

Is the Hisense Better ? and is the picture brighter , more colourful and smoother ?

Those are both new 2019 models, it's unlikely that anyone here could give you an honest comparison.

Why don't you go check them out at Makro. Take a sample video on a USB stick and compare them for yourself. The sales guys at Makro are quite accomodating of this, so feel free to take.your time.

Hi Kamos

Please can you share your B8000 settings. I'm struggling to get a decent picture for DSTV now, especially football. I'm getting motion blur and ultra bright colour that just doesn't look right.

Your help will be much appreciated
