[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

It's getting a completely new backlight set + driver for R1700. Parts underway from Hisense to an independent technician. I do believe he is bluffing about the back lights and that it is only the driver for them needing replacement.

As for the PDP we now have, initially for a minute I noticed flicker - probably due to our new 220V LED down lights having a flicker interfering with it. The plan was to send the Hisense off to the holiday house and keep the PDP, but my wife had a way worse flicker effect with the PDP, seems better now, but we are sticking with the Hisense when it comes back and sending the PDP off to the holiday house.

Hi @Hisense SA , I have just bought a 55B8000 is about 3 weeks back, and I'm having issues with the apps not playing in 4k, neither Netflix, YouTube or dstv now will play any comtent in 4k. Also when I check the information section in these apps it picks up the tv model as 55a6501ex.

I also did some digging on how to check the firmware of the tv on the settings and it also shows 55A6501ex as the model of the tv,.

Have I been conned with an older model tv or is this a software issue.

I need help to sort this out as the whole reason I bought this tv is to watch Netflix in 4k. NB I have a 100mb line, and also tested this with a 4k fire TV stick which plays 4k without any issues.

Please help with a new firmware update if that's the case.
Pic attached for reference.

Thanks

I'd get rid of the PDP as well, the almost 3 times the power draw, the burn in, the only saving grace would be it's black levels.

Hi everyone. Bought the Q8600 on sale this week. I did an OTA update to firmware version J1114.

I noticed in a different thread that there is a version J1127. Can someone confirm what the latest firmware is?

The OS says mine is up to date.

To anyone interested, hisense has some new models coming out early August. It seems to be the same models that will also be coming to the UK. There is the base ULED u7wf then there are the premium ULED essentially the counterpart to the H8G and H9G in the US. In SA they will be released as the U7QF and U8QF respectively. All details can be seen on hisense SA website. There is already a written review up somewhere regarding the U7QF and it looks good. Hopefully pricing is comparable to the older B8000 and Q8600.

I completely forgot about the service menu. Turns out my panel has about a year of on time so far in total (8249 hours).

I noticed the backlight setting gets greyed out when watching Dolby Vision on the Q8600. It also seems the local dimming is completely disabled as I can notice the black level raise a lot. Is there any way around this other than not using Dolby vision?

Does anyone know of this model that makro is selling. Can't seem to find anyother info pertaining to it online when searching model number a different tv shows up and it is not even m on the Hisense SA website.

I have a HE65A6100UWTS and need to update my TV because I see it's horribly outdated - currently showing it's on version J0603

I see marcgottschalk uploaded a firmware file to his drive that appears to be newer (I think)

Can anybody with a 6100UWTS confirm whether this is the latest firmware file for this version. If not, does anybody have a link to the latest firmware?

I've PM'd HiSense a while back, but they seems to have gone AWOL.

Does anyone know if this works on the 65A6100?

Can owners of the Q8600 or any DV capable hisense TV that runs Vidaa, please confirm if the backlight option is grayed out for you when viewing Dolby Vision content?

Or are you able to change it?

Have spoken to Hisense and trying to get them to look into this.
