If your not watching 4k content, the picture wont look as great on massive TVs as the tv has to upscale and due to the size of the tv as well as your seating distance from the tv, it could look a bit worse than a tv which is smaller. Streaming on the Hisense 65 inch Q8600 from a Mibox watching Dstv now, Netflix etc, I'm happy with the picture quality. DStv needs massive work from their end, but Netflix and YouTube are perfect.

For Hisense, start on their website to understand the different categories of TVs they offer. I would buy only from the premium and elite group for the best picture quality.
I honestly think if you just looking for a big TV any of these will serve you well. You might also want to consider the 65 inch Sony x800h at 17k

The B8000 has Quantum Dot.
Or should I just wait for the U7QF to become cheaper than R17500 odd

B8000 is not Quantum Dot. Its a good TV for the money though.

But from my gaming days WAY back I have an account with them - Around 2008 they allowed what was then stil MyADSL (this forum) members to register as dealers with them. Just got off the phone with them and my order is placed.

Received my 55U8QF yesterday - so far I'm very impressed! Obviously a massive difference to my 2014 40" Samsung, but even more than I was anticipating. Colours are great, brightness is insane (I turned it down, found myself squinting in some bright HDR scenes!!) and so far the VIDAA software seems okay. Used youtube and netflix just fine and cast some content from my android phone. Didn't notice any of the weird dimming I'd seen some complain about in very dark scenes.
Motion is maybe a bit weird. I played with the settings, and it is better with motion smoothing on. I can't place what I actually think is weird, it honestly might just be because it's a bigger TV with 4k.
My biggest disappointment so far is the remote. We don't get the nice metal remote with Bluetooth like the UK, and the IR receiver needs pretty direct aim to work consistently. And the buttons are horribly mushy. There is a remote app I haven't tried yet though. But it was quite noticeable while signing into Netflix just how bad the remote was (nothing like a long, complicated, autogenerated password to test your patience!)
Will hopefully play around a bit more tonight and try other apps etc. Also need a longer HDMI cable to get to my sound bar - ports are the other side to my old TV and no longer reaches!

Congratulations, i should have done the same thing. Compared my 40" 11 year old to the new LG OLED I have side by side . Reflecting further , 65 is maybe a bit too big (I was looking for 75 QLED/nano/uled) and I could have got away with a 55 and bought two of them at the BF prices -
Anyway, LG remote is definitely cool d and out of box AV has been brilliant - unsure if I need to do more tweaking to it. The TV has Atmos and considering the only sound when watching TV for me was from Samsung TV speakers previously, the LG is a revelation when Atmos source is detected. Not sure I need a sound bar, but a sub would be good.
Now to further rack up ebucks and discovery miles to buy them.

I finally received my 65U8QF yesterday ! Coming from a 8 year old 43" LG this was a huge jump ! I only managed to wall mount it last night and set up a few things. I played the store demo for fun and it looked amazing, tried out netflix and the dolby vision content didn't wow me but I think I just need to spend some time calibrating the TV .
As JaseZA mentioned, the remote is disappointing especially when compared to my older magic remote from LG.
The remote now APP works really well though so I may stick with that .

Unfortunately Hisense has long forsaken this thread. Worse still, they have probably abandoned firmware upgrades for most of their models altogether. The 2019 Q8600, for example, has poor software that they can’t be bothered to fix. The last update on the flagship was November 2019.
Hope I’m wrong, but I guess I’m saying don’t get your hopes up.

They've not been around for a long time unfortunately, software updates are also few and far between if you get them. My 3 year old M5500 hasn't had an update since the start of 2019.
