[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

My U7QF was delivered today. Testing out the Vidaa system until I get an HDMI 2 cable for the Mibox. But Plex natively on the TV won't play any x265 content with directplay. The image is completely distorted and pixelated, and after a while the TV says it is out of memory. This happens with 1080p and 4K content. If I remove directplay it is fine but then the server is transcoding everything.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Plex says the mpegts container is not supported if I try direct play.

Just set it up (got it for my parents, I have the U8qf) and I must say that for an entry level 4k TV its quite good.

Only gripe I have is that the remote for the a7100f feels more premium than the one we got with the U8qf...whats up with that @Hisense SA

yes, I bought my U8QF yesterday and was surprised by the low quality remote that it comes with. however in the documentation and in the reviws another remote control with higher quality is shown. does anyone know why?

I've got the U7QF and the remote is bad compared to both my old Hisenses.

I think Hisense went cheap and only made one SA version of their remotes with DSTV/Showmax buttons - unfortunately the made it a cheap remote. My biggest frustration is the lack of bluetooth - sucks pointing a remote at the TV! You can buy the UK version from Hisense for around 20GBP - probably do that the next time I have family visiting from there. Unless anyone has seen a better 3rd party option with bluetooth?

The South African version does not even allow pairing a Bluetooth remote. However, if you go to the service menu and change your region to UK, the bluetooth remote pairing option will be available in connection settings. But then you lose the DSTV/Showmax apps. Also, the UK region is filled with ads etc.

If you don't use DSTV/Showmax apps or have a Android box attached, totally get the remote from UK, change TV region to UK and enjoy your fancy shmancy remote, mmmmkay.
 
Time for a new TV, time old question - LG cx55 or hisense 65 u8qf? Sitting 3.5 meters away and my old set being a 51 plasma.

What you guys think? The 55 would be slightly bigger than my 51 and I haven't been spoiled by a bigger size yet.
 
Cx55. I have a CX and it's amazing. If I had to buy a new TV, it would the same but this year's model but at 88 inches :)
 
So I have received my 65U7QF. How do I turn off the soap opera TV effect on the picture? I've disabled some of the picture enhancing options, but I'm not sure if there are other settings to turn of as well.

Under picture settings look for ultra motion or smoothing. I've got 2 different Hisenses with different names.

Need some assistance and wisdom.

I have been through this thread but have found nothing definitive to solve the issue that im having with the following Hisense TV 49"K300UW UHD Smart. I haven't been able to find anymore firmware updates, it seems they have discontinued support. The issue I'm having is none of the apps are updating to the latest versions 4K is not playing in YouTube and Netflix,(Netflix says its playing 4k on the stats page but when you look at the quality of picture it looks like normal HD), in short this "Smart TV" is becoming stupid.

Is there a viable firmware software update that I am not aware of or an alternative firmware that can be used (Please no Bricks).

The current firmware version is V00.01.00a.H0205

Ive been in touch with Hisense and as you can imagine no response!!!

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated, thanking you in advance.

This is the point you retire the TV smart and go for a TV stick/box.
 
Hi all.

Just got my U7QF 65"

Iam looking for good colour calibration settings for this TV as base starting point just to minimise the DSE a little and get nice deep blacks.

Help would be much appreciated.
