[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

I returned 2 Hisense Q8600’s to Takealot. No mess, no fuss. It was within the 30-day window and they fetched and refunded. It’s why I would buy another TV from them.
does it have to be done within the 30-day window? Thought it was a bit longer with larger items, I would have done it when I first got my tv two years ago, but at the time it was the most amount of money I'd ever spent on anything so it felt daunting to give it back and have something go wrong with them just loading it into the truck at my house or the actual transportation and them saying "oops, lost in transit" or "oops, it broke, no more tv". I buy smaller items from takealot all the time and they're great but the thought of something going wrong and then having to deal with people at support that likely won't help, is not high on my list of things I want to do.

I don’t have a lot of experience with returning anything outside of the 30-day window but I know people who have claimed under warranty and Takealot are generally good. At least no worse than the local Makro or game. They come and fetch but I’m not sure about damages etc.

The 2 TVs I returned cost 10k and 16k respectively so it is a little nerve wracking to not have control over the actual transit process. But there were no issues except the second time the guy had to come back with a bigger vehicle when he saw it there was a chance it would be a tight squeeze, which means that they do take care of the items. Also I don’t think the regular Mr D guys handle the deliveries. The bigger items are outsourced.

HI

I have a Hisense 50A6100UW
HISENSE 50" UHD SMART LED TV

I'm struggling to find the latest Firmware update (if there is any)the TV says it has the latest....but the TV is slow...and DSTV just has the Blue ring most days...other days its works but very slow.

Thanks in Advance.
I got some software for this TV please send me a DM for the link

Was really looking forward to the U8G, but it seems like the version we're getting in SA is not the same as the one in the US.

VIDAA vs Android, is that a problem? What other features does it lack? Do I really need to get this TV if I mainly watch Netflix and want to play a casual game every now and then? If I have a Mibox S, will that compensate for the lack of Android TV?

I saw the U8QF at Makro and I was impressed, but from what I read it has some not-so-minor issues, still a good option?

How does the Samsung AU8000, Q60A and Q80T compare?

My budget is R20k max, would appreciate any and all input, thanks!
At R20k,if you can make do with a 48 inch instead of a 55 inch, get the LG C1 even if that is going against the thread title. Hisense is a great budget brand but at that price point an LCD is not going to compete with an OLED especially not the downgraded U8G model we got.

That's good news, but i see their Qled tv prices are very similar to the new Hisense u8g and u7g.
I would have to go with the one with the longer warranty period.
Just my thoughts.

Agreed but competition in this segment can only be good. Plus the units run Android and the reviews in the American markets is quite decent, though I see the TVs will be manufactured locally as well so they might pull a Hisense on us and offer different models to the US ones. All in all, I’m definitely curious and they’re landing in time for Black Friday so hopefully that puts pressure on the other brands!

So I have a Hisense u7a and there is some white light shining through from the bottom. Most probably an issue with the panel? Will the warranty cover it?

I have attached a pic of the light.

Woke up yesterday morning to find this on my tv, anyone knows what could have caused it? Right top side corner

Good morning all
I read that Nokia are about to launch their range of Tv's into South Africa, through Ellies.
I wonder what their quality and prices will be like.
Have a great safe day.

Anyone on the thread interrested in a 1-year old U8QF 55" (nothing wrong with it, just upgrading to OLED). PM me. For collection in Somerset-West. Want twelve k for it.

Hi Everyone,

Hi all

Wanted to know does the HiSense A7100 43" support dolby vision? The box and specs says it does but when running the YouTube demo it doesn't display its using dolby vision. Do I need to turn it on? I know Netflix HDR works correct.

YouTube does not support Dolby Vision. Try media on Netflix.

Which content on Netflix is dolby vision? I did a quick Google and the series that says it's dolby vision shows as 4k hdr only.

I went in and can't find any that has that displayed.

Then it's not Dolby Vision supported

Well according to the hisense website your tv doesn’t have Dolby vision, so just like Samsung any Dolby vision content will show as 4K hdr.
