[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

i know U8g is IPS in other countries but i am not sure it is in SA. someone will need to confirm for us.
When I first checked the contrast was 1200:1 but now it lists 5000:1,they might just be repackaged U8QFs like our U7G just being a U7QF

Best price I can find on Hisense 65″ LED Matrix | 65U8G currently is 20k

Anyone know of a better special, and as far as I read the panel and spec is pretty good, has anyone got this unit and can please provide some feedback

Will be mostly series and movies on Netflix, showmax, and some emby server viewing
Got a Xbox one s that gets played occasionally
65U8QF for 17.5k and very similar specs

I bought this a few months ago and its still bang for buck the best TV in SA, 1000 nits brightness, HDR contrast, dolby vision, dolby atmos

Hi gents. Having some trouble with my 55" a6500. Was watching tv last night, no problems. This morning when I tried to turn on the tv, it just shows the Hisense logo and then flashes a thin broken horizontal static line. Flashes in the bottom, then the middle and then the top. Does not respond to the remote either after turning it on.

Tried other power cord etc. Normally when you turn the tv on, the red light bottom left on the tv button flashes 3 times. It does not do that anymore either.

Anyone experience something similar? I cant find my receipt either, but I bought it 3 to 4 years ago.

Your warranty is about to expire. Log a claim now with hisense just incase it hasn’t.

Did you register the TV with hisense?
I think so. Will give them a call in the morning. Hisense Cape Town I believe? If the warranty expired or they cant help without the receipt, can I still ask them to repair it and I will pay for it?

I'v been very happy with my 65B8000. Unfortunately my toddler destroyed it with a broom this morning.

It seems like the B8000 is no longer available and I need to send a replacement model to our insurers.

I see that for 2021 there are the U6G, U7G, U8G models. Also the A range.

It seems like the A range is the lower range of the two?

In terms of brightness and contrast ratio, it seems like the U7G and U8G are similar to the B8000. Is that correct?

They seem quite a bit more expensive that what I paid for the B8000.

Seems quite difficult to get exact specs on the different models.

Please suggest what would be comparable replacement :)

U7G or if you can find stock,U7QF

U80G 8K just launched in SA and seems to be the only one in the local range with real HDMI 2.1 features. Also running Android instead of VIDAA. Would have gotten this if it came in a smaller size.

Do we get the real USA model?

I can’t see how many nits the B8000 pumps out but it looks like you shouldn’t get anything below the U7QF/G or else you might be disappointed.

According to the local Hisense website, the B8000 is considered a “Classic ULED” which puts in the bracket of the U6G (2021) and U7WF (2020).

Haven’t compared the specs and the B8000 might well be better specced than these newer models but going by the Hisense website that’s the classification bracket it falls in, if that helps. The prices of these might also correlate to what insurance might be prepared tp pay based on the B8000.

Heard from someone in the know that the Mosfets in these things don't like the brownouts we get in some areas.
Which things? There are a few different hisenses mentioned throughout this thread.

Has anyone successfully registered a TV on the Hisense website for the extended warranty?

I tried a few times today but just got a spinning cursor every time I pressed submit.

Yes. Also had that issue a while back. It eventually worked when I tried another time.

Cheap TVs (Hisense was mentioned)
Hisense isn't really that cheap and not really in the same league as the AIMs, Sansui, Diamomds and such. I've had 3 and one of them is over 6 years old and still going strong.
