[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Is the U6G any good?

Was watching a video to get the difference between the u6g and u7g. The video said the main difference is only if you are into gaming.
SA U6G is IPS but has local dimming to help with that,if you watch tv with some light the low contrast ratio shouldn't be too bad,if you can find a U7QF or U7WF still in stock they might be cheaper.

I just got my TV and set it up only to find if you use the optical output the volume is not controlled by the remote :(

Is there anyway around this because my Amazon TV doesn't have a built-in volume for some reason and neither does the amp the optical cable is plugged into, dammit!!

How do we know the SA U6G has an IPS panel?

For me, the general rule, if you are looking for a top of the range tv with all the HDR bells and whistles, is to stay away from Hisense and spend more money on the high end Samsung Qleds or OLEDS from LG or Sony. Because, Even though Hisense specs TVs with high peak brightness, they are just not that good. They still don’t do 120Hz in SA, for example so you can’t game on the new consoles as you would like. The OS is iffy at best and screen uniformity is a real lottery. With a Hisense, you get what you pay for.

But, having said that, if you are on a budget and need a decent tv to watch mostly HD content and the non Dolby Vision 4K then it’s perfectly fine. I had the HDR bug and so bought an OLED and then found myself stretching to watch mostly Dolby Vision and HDR things that I wasn’t really interested in, just because they were brighter and I wanted to use to my TV to its max.

Now I’m like, ok whatever. Most of the content I want to watch is not in Dolby Vision, so what’s the point? Sport is not even in 4K.

The high peak brightness is cool, but it burns your eyes and uses more electricity anyway haha.
4K Dolby Vision looks pretty awesome on my Hisense 55" Q8600. Most Samsung and LG TV's suck in comparison.

Hisense 65A6G or 65Q7F for R1000 more?

Tv used for Netflix, Youtube and the odd movie from Plex server.
Not interested in 120hz, viewing real estate only with best picture in this price bracket.

from my readings on the web. Last years TV's are better than this year so 7qf should be better ITO PQ but R1000 more ?
whats the budget ?

If you're interested I can get a New 65A6G for R10200. Just DM me

just from specs i would say u7f
because of muuuuch better contrast ratio of 4000:1( so i would assume its a VA ) vs 1200:1( so i would assume its a ips panel) .
this means better blacks and a better overall picture quality. But downside would be Viewing angles. so if you watching head on or maybe upto 20 degrees of centre its gonna look great.

other difference i spotted was u7f had 2 usb and 3 hdmi input.
the u6g has 1 usb and 4 hdmi.

my 2 cents

Best price I can find on Hisense 65″ LED Matrix | 65U8G currently is 20k

Anyone know of a better special, and as far as I read the panel and spec is pretty good, has anyone got this unit and can please provide some feedback

Will be mostly series and movies on Netflix, showmax, and some emby server viewing
Got a Xbox one s that gets played occasionally

Hi all

2 things I noticed
