Help, I need a new TV!

people are talking about hands on 1st hand experience

not reviews from others ok
I mean I could give OLED review, can't give Apple review. OLED great, not so great with bright rooms :-) but maaan when it hits it hits right. But a decent LED with a decent price will suffice.

basically this TV
But more :-)

Yeah i would steer away from Hisense. Rather the TCL or Toshiba.
Toshiba is Hisense :-) plus it would really depend on the Hisense, I've had a few and no issues, but others have had some and had issues.
Granted I've only had one entry level one from 2014, the rest mid to high end.

Op rather watch from your phone for now and save up for a proper LG OLED, anything else you buy will always leave you wanting for more, Spending R15K on a Low tier brand like Hisense or TCL is not advisable.

The only way I will afford one of those is if I start a Gofundme.

I could do the Apple review …

But if I was you, I’d probably go for more advanced option while saving money at the same time.

Google TV is what you want

The moment I saw the title I was tempted to create a "help I need someone to buy me a new TV" but April 1st is only happening on 2026. I don't actually need a new TV but if there is any Apple products can fall out of the sky I wouldn't mind it.

Best I can do is offer 3 old bananas I was gonna make banana bread with.

I too am looking for a new TV and trying to decide between the U7N Pro, which I don't know what Pro means or does and the C755, only looking at 55" because it is a bedroom TV. It is not as simple as going into a store and looking, I'm bedridden so can't exactly go shopping, I have to buy it online. Wanted to get a 65" but I feel only being 2.5m away from the TV, 65" might be overkill.

Do you have any preferences? My previous Hisense decided to get pinstripes after 2 years, fixed it, and got colourful stripes after another 3 years, so I'm a bit weary of going that route again.

At that distance I'd go for a good 55 over a cheaper 65.

What is gonna be a good 55? I'd been looking at the TCL's for a while but I've never seen one IRL, only on YouTube videos. I mostly watch iptv so the tv is on all day, mix into that playing on an xbox series s, so something decent and capable.

literally linked to a decent 65" TV that would beat any others at that price point no worries.

I made my choice, after many many Youtube reviews between hisense, samsung, LG and TLC and reading lots of reddit comments this seems to be a very good TV for the price, arriving on Friday

As the title explains, I need a new TV and I feel a bit lost, my current TV is an 8 year old LG that seems possessed, I have been looking at the TCL Tv's specifically the TCL 65" C755, as well as the Hisense 65" u7n which are both mini-LED.

I do like the idea of Google TV on the TLC, although it's not a must have for me, then I have read lots of comments about quality control issues with Hisense TV's, so right now I am undecided not only on those two but I don't have a clue if there is something even better to buy at this point, it will be used for gaming and movies/sport.

I would love an OLED but they are all out of reach for my budget, so my current budget is around 13 to 15K, I don't mind spending slightly more if it will be a better buy, but it must be 65", please help.
TCL. I replaced my LG Nano86 with a TCL C755, and the picture is better for me on the TCL, I also prefer the Google TV OS, and not the proprietary kak.
My son also needed a TV and I got him the TCL P755
