[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Anybody here using a Hisense soundbar? I bought the HS219 over the holiday and it is great for what I wanted. Just want the volume to stay where I set it and not reset to default every time it goes to sleep, since I control the volume with the Mibox remote.

Mibox connected to TV HDMI port, and then from TV's ARC HDMI port to soundbar. So when I turn on the Mibox the TV and soundbar come on together.

I got the Hisense A6G TV. and this VIDAA OS pisses me off. I cant add new apps, it doesnt have the 'play store' equivalent.

And I cant seem to connect PC via Chromecast over the wifi, it picks up the TV but the connection option is greyed out. ("Available only for specific video sites" error)

Has anyone installed android TV OS on this TV, Is it a complicated process?

A mediabox would take care of most of your future issues.

Had the same issues with the 65Q7 VIDAA system. Doubt you will be able to install Android directly on it. I just hooked up my Mibox again and prefer it.

HMMmm, I should of read this thread before I purchased it, there are multiple of posts indicating that VIDAA is k*k

Anyway lesson learnt. do more research next time.

Most TV OSes aren't great, better to get a separate box.

No issues with Vidaa per se but got a new Chromecast. Just a snappier interface and easy streaming of my cameras to the screen. And integrates into my Google Home.

I bought the Hisense 65U8G television. All streaming apps are working perfectly except DSTV app.

It stutters every 3 - 5 sec and losses sound for 2 sec every 10 sec on live streaming of channels, Catchup working perfect. Tested app on androidbox and no such problems. I have 100mb fibre, so internet connection is very stable and fast, confirm with speedtest on tv.

Anybody else have similar problems on the Vidaa system?
I have found an annoying work around for the above problem on live streaming channels, hope that it can be of some help to others:

- While on live channel press the "up button" on the remote control
- You will see a left arrow, pause sign, right arrow on screen.
- Navigate to the pause button and pause the stream for 5 sec and them resume play, if you pause to long playback will not resume, if you do not pause long enough problem still there.

No more stuttering, sound loss, lagging etc.

As said, no need for this on android box, probably better optimized and tested during development.

Surely this is a small change DSTV/Hisense can make with its developers.

How’s the picture quality and overall performance of the TV if you ignore the OS?

Just got the 65u7qf. I've always used a 2.1 system plugged into the headphone output on my previous 65B8000UW.

On the 65u7qf, the headphone output says 'service' above it and not headphones. It's also greyed out in the TV's settings.

Why would that be? Is there a way to fix this or am I going to have to get a soundbar?

OK, my 2.1 speakers are also Bluetooth. If I connect to them, headphones is no longer greyed out in the menu and I can set to headphones out only. Issue is every now and then there are audio dropouts for like a split second. It also makes a very loud static sound when I turn the TV on and off.

After a software update my Plex no longer works - has anyone else experienced this?

Tried just about everything, including restoring the tv to default and reinstalling plex on my pc.

Plex works just fine on other devices, just not working on the tv

I was actually just coming in here to check this as well. My Plex stopped working a while ago on my TV (A7100 43"). I didn't worry cause I used the Litbox for everything in that room. Now that I got rid of the Litbox, I'm stuck in the same boat as you. I have tried quite a few things, but nothing seems to work. I sent Hisense support a mail as well. My Software version of my TV + Plex Server version are below:

Software Version : V000.01.00a.L1001
Extended Version : L1002

Plex Server Version : 1.25.3.5409

I tried changing the networking from secure to insecure and the Plex web settings, but does not work. Plex works on all my other devices. Does the A7100f not support DLNA?

My Details:

Plex for VIDAA (on the TV): 3.13.14
TV Software Version : V000.01.00a.L1001
Plex on the server PC: 1.23.1

I am 99% certain the issue is with the TV software update as:

Plex worked perfectly fine prior to the update.
Plex still works 100% on all other devices, its just on the TV that its no longer working.

I have tried to chance pretty much every setting including to manually configure the IP settings, change the connection type, etc etc - nothing works. Ill contact Hisense today to see if its possible to rollback to a previous software version.

I received a response from Hisense.

"Please note that we are aware of the plex issue and we have communicated with the company, we are working on fixing it and will get back to you once it was resolved."

I say mail them as well to let them know it's urgent. I'm hoping this isn't a delay tactic.

will probably get fixed with the new software update - when ever that might be :/

It is a good TV considering the price (There are better TVs obviously but I would have to fork out an extra 7k to get same size QLED).

Cannot really point out anything negative about picture quality or performance. (Based on using it to watch Netfix 90% of the time)

Other times I connect the external drive to watch things not on Netflix.

Hi Guys,
just bought the Hisense 55U8G to use with my Nvidia Shield TV. Any recommendation on the best settings as the ones on RTINGS are referring to the US version?

Thanks.

Got the Hisense 50inch UHD Smart TV 50B7100UW in 2020 at game for R5500. It's R7000 now again but keep an eye on it if you're interested as it constantly gets price cuts. It's a great TV compared to our Panasonic 42inch plasma we had. YouTube, Netflix, DSTV, Plex all work perfectly. We previously used our PS4 to watch YouTube and Neflix having to use the controller to navigate, loving that this TV has dedicated buttons on the remote. It's our first smart TV.

Got a refund on my U7WF while I still had the option as the banding was too bad for me to accept.

How does the U6G compare with the U7QF in real life? I can get both at the same price, and I'm leaning towards the U7QF because of the brighter panel and 72 local dimming zones vs 32 on the U6G. From what I can find online, the local dimming algorithm on the U6G is decent enough though, and it has Auto Low Latency for gaming consoles. The processor is also newer on the U6G, but I didn't feel like the U7WF had issues on that front.
