[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

TLDR the thread

Just be certain that any Hisense you buy or want to buy has Google Stores App on and that the TV is Android and not vvida or whatever they call it.
The Android models in SA are entry level 4k TVs as far as I know. The higher end ULED models all come with Vidaa in SA. So I wouldn't recommend going for the Android models unless you are already looking at the lower end 4k TVs like the A6G or older A7100F models.

Exactly.

Some of the older models, like the A7200F has Android TV. None of the ULED Hisense 2021 models have Android TV, only VIDAA 5 (@Hemi300c).

Yip ours has VIDAA and you can't even sideload anything. I wasn't involved with the purchase because I would have made certain of Google for the CCTV apps to be loaded.

Yeah, its a pity hey that the Hisense models vary so much in different countries around the world instead of keeping the OS the same across the board. Anyhow, to solve the side-loading issue, an Android box is definitely the only way to go then ;)

For those looking at Android TV devices, I would recommend the Chromecast with Google TV or perhaps the new Xiaomi Mi TV Stick 4k. They both do 4k HDR and also Dolby Vision with good performance. Just make sure that you buy the new 4k TV Stick and not the older one.

Good to know, was wondering if there are any devices available that do support Dolby Vision. Might then just opt for a Xiaomi Mi TV Stick 4k then in the future :)

i waited almost 2 months for a tech to come out

now hisense has my tv for about 10 days

furk me they service is bad

never ever again
What was wrong with your TV again?

Hisense is a bunch of amateurs, I was a fool to think that when push comes to shove they had anything on the bigger established brands , it might just be an SA issue in terms of how poor the support is but it's ridiculous.

When they can't even get the basics right, like replying to emails or answering their phones. Even the warranty registration website is broken, which is when I realised that I was in for a hell ride...

Does that use some kind of Oled type panel, because that black level is pretty amazing.
ULED I think they call it. I could check my other Hisense which doesn't use it. Though sometimes there is a little bit of light bleed when the local dimming zone can't handle it, like rarely.

yeah everything is broken

its worse than visiting a corner store

mine also had some light bleed but not sure if bad or not but i didnt want to take a chance and just sent it in

but the communication is very poor

Worst part for me is, there are no Firmware updates for the TV's

Will probably take my living room Hisense and put it in the Spare Room and get a proper brand to use for my main display.
