[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Our u8h is though which is what he's comparing.
Our U8H is not the same as the US U8H. There is a big difference once again.

US U8G has more than 300 local dimming zones on the 55". SA U8H has 112 zones

I cannot find that information at all, even the hisense usa website doesn't list the local dimming zones on any of their models, but the rest of the specs line up.

Ah okay it looks like is mostly the same as the UK version, but besides the OS I can't really see much else different between the U8Hs?

43" [43A6G]

Well fck. First time I've had a chance to sit down properly in front of the TV to setup/tweak and I can't for the life of me figure out how to add new apps to this flipping TV.

The Vidaa store app simply isn't there, so daughter is stuck with what came pre-installed. Probably going to have to fck around with side loading stuff, etc, etc - the kind of stuff that I used to find exciting 10 years but really couldn't be arsed with doing nowadays....

No Spotify
No Disney+

What the kuk is this? No help is available online either just complaints.

I'm lekker the moerin right now - will definitely not buy one of these again - rather pay more for an LG.

before epah comes with C1 and apple ..of which he owns none

get her a XBOX ..kla

or a media player

im not sure those samsung and LG tvs are so good as well compared to android or a media player

The there are 2 versions. US and International. Both look different, both perform different ( as seen from previous years models as well like the U8G for emaxple). All international models look the same though.

US model runs Android while the International version has Hisense Vidaa, which means there is a 99% chance of them having a different SoC. A different SoC means different image processing which already makes the 2 TV's different.

Hisense SA website specs says the 55" U8H has 112 local dimming zones and 1000 nits peak brightness.
USA Hisense website says U8H the TV has a 1500 nit peak brightness, (500 nit difference is no joke) and on the Amazon listing for the U8H they clarify that the 55 U8H has 336 local dimming dozes.

International version has a Soundbar below the screen, USA version does does not.
International version and USA version have different overall designs.

Besides both TV's having 2 x HDMI ports which support the HDMI 2.1 specification and sharing the same name, I see many differences between the 2 versions.

Ok thanks, turned out I did look at the UK version, but the u8h still isn't a bad TV here

I feel the review is a bit bias....

From a price point he leaves out the 55" and draws your attention to the 65" and says is almost half of an equivalent 65" OLED.
He fails to mention that the 55" which he reviewed, is the same price as an 55" LG OLED.

From the content he was showing, blooming looks like a huge concern and cant be overlooked at its price point.
Yes he did mention it has blooming but at its MSRP at the time of his video, I feel its not worth recommending at all. You could get a C1 or QN90B with 4x HDMI 2.1 ports and both will perform MUCH better overall.

If this TV was around R15K then yes, its a good tv to get, but at R20k? Dont waste your time.

I'm planning to write a short review of the 55" QN90B I got over the weekend but just for comparison, here is the TV while I was watching THOR Love and Thunder in a pitch black room. And just FYI, there are black bars on the top and bottom which looked OLED like black to me. This is tv is almost the same price as the Hisense
