[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Hi FoxFire675, any reason you did not go for the LG C1, which available for the same price as the Samsung,
or the 48inch LG C2, which is reported to be better than the C1.
I already have a C1. (Actually had 2, and bought another to make a gaming setup but ended up selling it along with a C9 I had. Even posted it here on my BB for sale.) I also have a 65" G1 at my CPT residence.

The colours and brighness on the Samsung are better, however the contrast on the OLED's are better. The QN90B I saw comes very close to the OLED in most dark scenes I saw and I'm prepared to sacrifice a little black crush for colour and brightness as the content my s/o and I watch doesnt always have pitch black scenes. Since I mostly owned OLED's I know what they are capable of and I'm waiting for the Samsung QD OLED to be launched here.

The 55" C1 is R20K on sale ( thats the cheapest I saw it). The 55" QN90B is R21999 with sound bar. If you dont need the soundbar you can sell it off, which is what I already did. So in essence the TV is R18k. From what I saw and my use case for the TV in the lounge, I'm not keen on guying another 65" G1 because of the price, so I went with arguably the best QLED LCD tv on the market until QD OLED hits here. QN90B also has 4 x HDMI 2.1 ports.

I can't tell if you are interviewing picture quality or interface?

I don't buy TVs for their crappy in built software (that is why you buy a Nvidia shield or similar) or audio quality (that is why you buy a home theatre system).
One thing that really peeved me off about HiSense when I got mine is, they enabled, by default, motion compensation or garbage like that.
I watched Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug when I just got my TV and it had that setting on.
Made it look like a highschool play, no jokes, it was laughable.
I at first thought something was wrong with the TV, but basically turn that garbage off
Both, as the Toshiba and U8G come with built in soundbars which may sway some people not wanting to spend extra on a soundbar. Hisense was better in picture and sound, though... their pricing is so off. If they were 4-5K cheaper at launch, they would be winners.

LG has the best user interface IMO. Android boxes arent for everyone and good home theater systems cost as much as the TV. Soundbar + TV OS is what majority of people have, though if everyone had lots of money we'd have all the best things in life

I bought my home entertainment system in 2015.
It still works perfectly.
More importantly, all the dolby features still work on it.
So IMO not worth not getting it seperately, takes audio quality out of the purchase equation.

Nvidia Shield Pro is so much better than what the TV offers in every way (not crashing, always play in 4k/Atmos, plays everything, etc.)
That said I guess most people buy cheap media boxes so maybe they have a sh#tty experience

Remember you mentioning one of them was rubbish? That the U7G

Well they are all rubbish if we are being honest, You already know if you asked what tv you should buy I would’ve said C1, but that wasn’t your question, In your price range the least rubbish one will be the U8G and the U7G will have acceptable HDR capabilities and I am sure you can swing a 65” u7G . I would personally take the 55” U8G.

The "G" models are 2021, the "H" is 2022. So I'd recommend the U6H or U7H rather

Hi all, as do not game, so 4k at 120hz is not needed, how good
is the LG A1, for watching sport(f1, soccer, rugby etc), because
their prices are dropping, so is it a good buy.
ps: i watch in near complete darkness, no natural light entering the room.
Thanks

Perhaps don't ask in the Hisense thread?

Seems it's either the U7H https://www.hirschs.co.za/hisense-139cm-55-quantum-uled-4k-tv-55u7h
U8H is the same price as the C1 even with the sound-bar which doesn't make sense.

Which we had decent SA reviews about what is excluded from these TV's in SA.

U8H has some really impressive reviews though depending where you look...

Insurance only giving me R9500 and while I can stretch for a U7H, a U8H is a bit much for a TV that'll become a Guest Room TV in a few months.
I'll be at Hirshes later yo see what's what anyhow
Could move it to the main viewing area and the other TV to the guest room

Hi guys,

Anyone heard anything about the Disney App for Hisense yet? I can't see anything.

Also, anyone having an issue with the quality on the DSTV app on the Hisense?

Thanks

You are never going to see the app, Either get an LG TV or buy an external media player.

Regarding the dstv app I can most guarantee it is Dstv's fault and not hisense on that one.
